By Cali Bennington
The night was becoming long and the wine was bittersweet,
but Cali didn't seem to mind. She was cuddled between Chester and Draven, both of whom were resting
on her shoulders, and was busy watching the sun set when her fiancee turned to her and cocked his
head slightly, staring at her.
"What?" She asked, leaning away a little.
"Nothing." Chester shook his head and kissed her cheek.
"Mommie... why is the sun so bright?" Draven asked, tilting his head up to look at her. Cali smiled,
and shrugged a little.
"Don't know sweetie." The child seemed satisfied by the answer and went back to watching the
"Mike called again today. Wants to know if you'd take part in the 'Where'd you Go' Video." Chester
scratched at his head and glanced at his fiancee, watching as she shrugged again, not tearing her
eyes away from the sun for a moment.
"Don't know." She murmured, sighing slightly. Her head was a little foggy from all the wine she'd
had and she didn't feel like saying something she might regret.
"Call him back, will you? He's gonna keep bugging me until you give him an answer." Chester turned
his attention back to the setting sun and sighed.
"Okay." Cali's voice was low. She didn't want to call Mike. She knew it was about more than the
stupid video. He wanted her to come over and screw him like she had a few months ago. She couldn't
do that now. Not with Chester and Draven in her thoughts. Before had been an accident. It had been a
stressful day on tour and that had been their only means of release besides drinking their problems
away. She had gone and done the same thing with Chester just the day after and found him to be the
better lover out of the two.
"Okay, Draven. Bedtime." Chester smirked at his son, watching the toddler shake his head.
"No." He whined, clinging to Cali's waist.
"Come on, sweetie. Sleepy time." She purred. Draven looked up at her and sighed, giving in.
"'Tay..." He trailed off and got up, waiting for Cali to carry him upstairs and do the nightly
routine of reading a book until he fell asleep. This happened every night now that she was
permenantly moved in. She would wait for Chester to tell Draven it was bedtime and then she would
tell him it was bedtime. He usually only listened to her. As she took him upstairs, the phone rang.
She could hear Chester aqnswer it and then yell for her to come get it.
"Ugh... bring it here! My hands are full." She yelled back, cradling Draven's head against her
shoulder. Chester soon got up and handed the phone over while taking his son from her.
"Hello?" Cali muttered into the phone.
"Damn, it's about time I caught you." Mike. Of course it was Mike.
"Uh-huh. WHat's up?" She was a little irritated that he'd called when she was supposed to be putting
Draven to sleep.
"I'd like you to come by tomorrow. We can discuss the vid--"
"Mike, I wont do it. I'm sorry, but no. Please don't bother me about it again."
"But, last time--"
"That was a mistake. I'm engaged, Mike, or have you forgotten?"
"I haven't forgotten."
"Good. Now, if you don't mind, I need to put Draven to bed. Goodnight, Mike."
"Don't hang up, Cali. I'll tell Chester..." Cali paused and stared at the phone.
"You wouldn't fucking dare."
"That's blackmail, Mike. You can't do that. YOu can't force me to be in your stupid video just
"Baby, is there something wrong?" Chester asked from the top of the stairs. Cali looked up at him
and then back at the phone.
"No, honey. Everything's fine." She faked a smile and waited until he left before pressing the phone
back to her ear.
"Okay, fine. I'll do the damn video, but that's it. If you try anything, I'll fucking kick your ass.
Understand?" She hissed.
"Understood. Goodnight..." His voice was evil when he hung up and Cali just stood there,
"Bastard." She growled, heading upstairs to where Chester was waiting, the other phone in his
"Don't do it, Cali. I don't care what you did before, but don't do it. He's going to fuck you over."
He hissed. Cali nodded and sat down on the bed, sighing some.
"I'm glad I didn't pick him over you, Chester. I know you'd never do something like this to me." She
murmured, reaching over to caress his cheek. Chester smiled and put the phone down, leaning over to
"Of course not."
