Love Can Change A Lot Of Things
By BlackMystique

BlackMystique: I had another dream...Weird, isn't it? Well I'll write about as you can already tell because it's right here, and you're reading it....Oh and there are random author notes in there. ^^u

Disclaimer: You know she knows she doesn't own all the things she doesn't own, so why bother suing her?

Love Can Change A Lot of Things

You were outside watching the guys train, whistling boredly. All of a sudden a ringing noise came from Yusukes's suit. 'Hm...should I pick that up?...or not?' you thought absent-mindedly. You hadn't noticed that it had rang at least 15 timed before you decided to pick it up. "What the hell took you so long to pick up Yusuke!?!" Koenma's boyishly sexy voice (That's from Soccerchic91588, read her stories! Oh and when he's mad it sounds really sexy.) came from the compact mirror.

"Oh, hello [Your name], where's Yusuke?" Koenma said, noticing that it was you.

"Yusuke's training right now, please leave a message after the beep. BEEEP!" You replied playfully.

"Oh alright, tell him and the rest of the gang that Botan is coming with a tape for the next mission, and yes you can tag along this time," Koenma said.

"Oh really? Thank you!" you squealed and hung up on him.

You ran over to the boys and announce to them what Koenma told you and ran inside. The reason you can't go on missions is, because you're human. The guys followed you inside and waited for Botan. As if on cue, she flew through the window on her oar, after she had to get Hiei to get out of the way first, of course. "Has Koenma told you that [Your Name] is coming this mission?" Botan asked them.

"If this mission is dangerous then we can't bring her along," Hiei growled at her.

"It is slightly dangerous, but nothing you won't be able to handle in a few minutes," Botan told them, "Besides, you guys can protect her from a few demons, can't you?"

"Don't worry! I, the Great Kuwabara, can protect her from all harm!" Kuwabara said dramatically.

You stood up and slapped him upside the head. You silently sat down as Botan put the tape into the VCR. "I have a very serious mission, nothing too dangerous, but very serious," Koenma said as the tape started.

"My oh so great self has found out that a demon is after the Shikon no Ryuu (Jewel of the Dragon), which can boost someones power when combined with the persons weapon," Koenma told them.

"[Your Name] happens to have this jewel, though I've never actually seen a jewel on her anywhere…," Koenma continued.

"Remind me to kill him when we get back," you said angrily.

"Well, I want you to find out what the jewel is and lure them to the Makai Forest. Then kill them, sound easy enough?" Koenma asked.

The tape was over and Botan took it out. "Well toodles and good luck!" she said and zoomed back to Reikai.

"Well that seems pretty easy...I think," Yusuke said.

"So [Your Name], do you have any kind of jewel?" Kurama said.

"Well I have a jewel, but it's not a gem..." You replied.

You stood up and went to your room. Afew minutes later you came out with a sheathed katana, with a jade sheath a dragon carved into it. You drew the katana out and it gleamed in the light, a glowing blue dragon was on the blade it's mouth open, baring it's fangs. "Well there are dragons on it so it at least might be it," Kurama said.

"Where did you get that?" Hiei said glaring slightly.

"Well, it was in that wooden box I was holding when I met you..." you told him.

"So you're saying you don't remember?" Hiei said roughly.

"It's not her fault Hiei, calm down," Kurama told him.

“I'm sorry, but I just don't remember,” you said, biting your lips.

“Don't worry about it [Your Name], it's okay,” Kurama told you soothingly.

You hated that you lost your memory, but when you met them, you had no idea what happened or where you were. You've been living with them for two years and you had gotten use to Hiei, but sometimes what he said hurt you a lot. Maybe it's, because of that little crush you had…

“I'm sorry,” he grunted as you were all heading to the Makai Forest. (You two are walking behind the gang so they didn't notice.)

“It's alright Hiei, I know you didn't mean it,” you said quietly.

Hiei has gotten a little soft (To you anyway.) ever since the day you told him that he was a jerk and he shouldn't act that why just because of his past. You told him it was weak dwelling on those things and he should just forget it. You knew it would get to him. You smiled a bit and inched closer to him as you entered the forest. A soft cackling reached your ears. It got louder until--the guy started choking from too much laughing. It kind of ruined the moment. “Come out of hiding right now you coward!” Hiei yelled into the darkness of the forest.

A figure emerged from the darkness. “Hello, my guest, I'm glad you bought the jewel for me,” the figure said, ”It saves me a lot of time.”

Hiei growled as Yusuke and Kuwabara got into a fighting stance and Kurama took his rose whip out. “You're a funny guy, but too bad you've met your demise!” Yusuke shouted.

“Hmm. Catchy, it rhymes, I should use it sometime, after I kill you! Muhahahaha!” he said, laughing maniacally.

“That's was lame…” Yusuke said.

“You should stop before you choke yourself to death, that'll be no fun,” You muttered, just loud enough for the guy to hear.

“Why you little…!” the guy said.

“Don't be rude, introduce us before you kill us!” you told him to get him more distracted.

“Oh yes, how rude of me. My name is Akira and I will be your murderer!” Muahahaha!” Akira said.

“What did I tell you before?” You said again.

He lunged at you. You dodged around a little while the gang gets behind him. Right before Yusuke was about to hit him with his trademark attack, the Spirit Gun, Akira managed to hit you causing you to fly into a tree.

--3 hours Later--

“What…what happened?” you asked.

“You're awake, you took quite a hit there,” Kurama said.

“Yea, Hiei got you out of the way before you were killed!” Yusuke exclaimed.

“He only did that, because Koenma would blame us, I would've done it because I wanted to,” Kuwabara said, slightly bragging.

You sweatdropped. “Speaking of Hiei, where is he?” You asked.

“He was sent on a mission to see if he could get some information on the Shikon no Ryuu,” Yusuke replied, “I'm glad it wasn't me.”

“Oh, okay,” You said quietly.

“Don't worry he'll be back soon,” Kurama told you.

You all waited for Hiei's arrival. Kurama knew you loved Hiei, and he wanted you to be happy. He just hoped Hiei won't break your heart or something.

--3 and A Half Hours Later--

Hiei came in holding a female's hand…wait a minute…holding a female's hand!?! This wasn't good, and Kurama knew it.

You saw him gently gripping her hand. You bit back your tears, you didn't want to let him know. If this was the girl he loved then you'd be happy for him. Even if it hurts you. “Hey Hiei, who's that?” You asked, faking a smile.

--Hiei's POV--

I've been in love with [Your Name] for a while…I just can't fall for her though…She's so happy and whenever she smiles she's like an angel. I hope she finds someone that will love her the way she needs to be loved…(He cares way too much. T.T)

--Back to Your POV--

“Hi my name's Mia, and I ran into Hiei a few hours ago! He's such a great swordsman! I love swordmans! Oh and I know about the Shikon no Ryuu! It`s nothing to worry about!” Mia exclaimed happily.

You mentally sweatdropped, `Great another ditzy girl, why can't there be any normal girls like me!' You thought in your head. (Where else can you think? -_-)

You sighed mentally, `How did Hiei ever fall for this girl? Maybe it's because she's a demon and I'm not.'

“Nice meeting you, but I'm getting tired, and I would love to be alone right now,” You said smiling while hiding your pain.

“I hope you feel better, [Your Name],” Kurama whispered so only you could hear, and left with the others.

“I hope I can feel better too Kurama, I hope I can feel better too…” You whispered slipping into a painful sleep.

--The Next Day, Genkai's Temple, 5 A.M.

“We got a new mission! This one is really bad!“ Yusuke yelled trying to wake everyone up.

You woke with a jolt and quickly wore on some jeans and a sweat shirt. “What happened?” You asked him as you saw Mia and Hiei walk out together.

It hurt, but you wouldn't let that pain consume you. You have to try and fight it. For Hiei's sake. You wanted him happy. You'll fight for him, and you'll do the best you can. You will get tired eventually though. What will happen when that time comes? You hope that you'll be okay, you didn't want to look weak in front of Hiei…You just didn't…

“Koenma told me that a deadly gang of assassins are after us. We have to protect everyone and kill them!” Yusuke said.

“Well what are we waiting for? Let's save Yukina!” Kuwabara yelled.

“I said everybody not only Yukina, you stupid git!” Yusuke shouted.

“Let's move out, Mia you know how to fight, right?” Kurama asked.

“Yes, a demon should, shouldn't she?” Mia said, smirking.

Hiei smirked at her comment. You headed to your room without saying a word. “Hey is [Your Name] okay?” Kuwabara asked.

He was such a nice guy. “Hn, she probably finally understands that she can't come,” Hiei sneered.

You heard what he said and silently walked to your room. You cried yourself to sleep as Hiei and the gang plus Mia head off to defend everything they hold dear to them. “Probably to Hiei I'm just nothing,” You muttered to yourself and slipped into unconsciousness.

--11: 30--

“Someone! Get Yukina! Quick!” Kuwabara yelled.

He sounded way to serious. Someone must be very badly injured. You woke up (Yes, you were asleep the whole day, that's what happens when you're sad.) and rushed into the medical room. “What happened? Who's injured?” you said worriedly.

Kurama stepped to the side. That's when you saw it. Hiei was wounded and unconscious. It must've been a strong fighter, because Hiei never let his guard down to be injured that badly. “Who did this?” You said, your voice shaky.

“I think it's better if Koenma explained this,” Kurama said.

“Why?” You asked so softly, that you were barely audible.

“Everyone's tired and we really don't want to talk about it,” Kurama replied.

“I'm sorry, I'll go to Koenma's,” you said silently, your voice cracking.

--Reikai, Koenma's Office, 11: 45--

“So you want to what happened? I'll play the video,” Koenma told you.

You nodded and waited for Koenma to get the tape and put it in the VCR. The scene appeared on the screen.

--What Happened (I typed that a lot this one-shot)--

“Well it isn't Hiei Jaganshi, the Forbidden Child,” a man said. (the man, the guy, blah, blah, blah)

Hiei growled at him. “What do you want?” he said angrily.

“Well I just wanted to kill you and the little Spirit Detectives, but it's gotten a little hard,” the man said.

“If you dare hurt me then I'll kill your girlfriend,” the man said.

Tha man rushed over to Hiei, as Hiei's eyes widened slightly. The man pulled out a sword and stabbed Hiei, twisting the sword. He swiftly pulled the sword out and left as the gang gathered around Hiei's unconscious form. `So he's injured because of Mia,' you thought sadly.

“Thanks Koenma, I'll be taking my leave now, bye,” you said heading back to Ningenkai, and more specifically, Genkai's Temple.

Botan followed you. She had to tell the gang some things and give out Koenma's orders. “Everyone, Koenma wants to make sure that Mia's safe! Protect her as well as you can! This man is still at large,” Botan announced.

You just headed back to your room and buried your head into your pillow. “I can't take it anymore!” you screamed into your pillow.

--Koenma's Office, 11: 50--

Koenma watched the film over, somethings not right. Hiei didn't widen his eyes until the man was in front of him. As we all know Hiei's not slow. He replayed it and had a close up of the man and Hiei. “If you dare hurt me then I'll kill your girlfriend,” the man said. Then he ran up to Hiei, “Or better yet…[Your Name]…”

“NO! Damn, I have to get to Genkai's Temple now!” Koenma yelled.

--Genkai's Temple, 11:55--

You laid there thinking about everything that has happened in the past few days. It was 11:55 and it was getting really late. Your eyes which use to shine brightly, were now dull. 11:56...Everyone was heading to bedrooms near Mia's bedroom to make sure she was well-protected. 11:58, almost midnight. You looked towards your window as you heard footsteps. Before you knew anything, you felt a knife plunged into your heart. You died slowly, your eyes were still open. Staring into nothingness…and just as the clock struck 12:00, you died, and at the same moment Hiei woke from is unconscious coma. “[Your Name]…,” he whispered. Everyone was there, and to hear him say just that made them know that something was wrong…

Just then Koenma burst into the room. “Where's [Your Name]? He's after her! Where is she?”

“No! [Your Name]!” Hiei ran out of the room and to yours.

“What is it?” Kuwabara asked, looking kind of stupid…(no offense to him)

Kurama, Yusuke, Kuwabara, Koenma, and Mia all ran to your room. The all stopped and stared, speechless at what laid before their eyes. You laid on the bed, dull [Eye Color] eyes staring out the window. What really made them speechless was the fact that you looked too peaceful for someone who was just murdered. Your [Hair Color] blew in the gentle wind. Your black curtain blew towards you, the wind whispering soft gentle things. Hiei was by your side, he whispered, but everyone could hear what he said, “I love you, [Your Name]…”

--With You--

You woke up with a start. You were in a room…a white room. Are you dead? “Where am I?” You asked groggily.

“Miss [You Last Name], you're awake!” a nurse said.

“I'm got to get the hell out of here. I mean a hospital? Didn't think Koenma would ever do that!” You muttered to yourself.

“[Your Name], you're awake!” Your mother said.

Silence…Wait… Your mother!?! This wasn't right. Where're are the others? You weren't even suppose to remember your mother…You must be dreaming. You pinched yourself. Okay, that hurt. This was no dream…,but was Hiei and the others a dream? This was way too complicated.

“You've been in a coma for 2 months now, I was so worried!” Your mother wailed.

“Can we get out of the hospital, please?” You asked your mother sweetly.

“I'll see what I can do, dear,” she told you.

You watched as your, mother talked to the doctor. `Oh dang, this is going to be very hard to explain…,' You thought to yourself.

“Yes, I believe you traveled through dimensions,” Your mother replied after you told her everything.

“What are you talking about?” You asked her, looking at her like she was crazy.

“The story goes like this,” Your mother began, taking a deep breath.

She told you how her family were descendants of a powerful demon from the dimension you traveled to. (You were happy the gang was real.) She had the power to travel through dimensions, but she accidentally traveled to the dimension you were currently in. She was too weak to travel back and so she stayed there for a while. That's when she fell in love with a man. They got married and had children. Every 50 years a descendant was born who would get powers similar to that of the demon. You were the one born on this 50th year. “Are you telling me I'm suppose to live in the other dimension?” You questioned her, surprised.

“That's exactly what I mean,” Your mother told you.

“I'm not ready to go back, not yet…,but if I was suppose to stay, why did I get back here when I died?” You queried.

“You have to fall in love, just as your descendants did,” Your mother told you.

“That's exactly what I don't want to do right now,” You whispered.

Your mother saw that you were a little depressed. “Would you like to know what your powers are?” Your mother asked you, changing the subject.

“Sure, that'd be nice,” you told her, smiling a bit.

“You're an elemental demon, with the powers to travel through dimensions,” Your mother said.

“Elemental demon…that would so prove to Hiei I wasn't weak…,” You said quietly.

--In Your Room in The Other Dimension--

“I'm sorry, but I can't revive her this time,” Koenma told Hiei for the 2nd time.

“Koenma sir, no one can find [Your Name]'s soul!” Botan shouted.

“Well she didn't have a file when we first met her, could it be that she's not from this dimension?” Koenma said to himself.

“So you think she might've somehow crossed through dimensions to get to us?” Kurama asked curiously.

“It's possible, it could mean that she could be alive,” Koenma told him softly.

“After everything, I don't think she'll be back for a while…,” Yusuke said sadly.

“I have to agree with that, even if it's hard to understand,” Kurama said quietly.

“I hope she does come back,” Kuwabara whispered.

“I really don't like seeing Hiei so sad,” Mia stated, “He had told me when we met, that she was like an angel, too perfect to be tainted by him…”

--2 years later-- (Two is such an important number in this)

“I think it's time I went back,” You told your mother.

Your mother merely nodded, and you hugged her and went on your way. You've been practicing your powers so you knew where to go. You were in Genkai's Forest. You looked out from behind a tree and saw the gang. “Am I really ready for this?” You said to yourself quietly.

Apparently, it wasn't quiet enough. “Come out of hiding!” Hiei growled.

You stepped out from behind the tree. Everyone stared at you, eyes widened with surprise. “[Your Name]…,” Hiei whispered.

A rustling was then heard in a nearby bush. Out stepped no other then the man who had killed you before. You stepped away from him and towards the group. “Ryuu no Mizu!(Dragon of Water)” you yelled.

Just as the dragon killed the man, a dagger pierced you in the heart. This was a special dagger. It had the power to reduce you and your soul to nothing. This time you died. There was no way to bring you back…Maybe you and Hiei were not meant to be…

--6 Hours Later--

“What…what happened?” you asked.

“You're awake, you took quite a hit there,” Kurama said.

`That sounds all too familiar!' You thought.

“Oh damn!” You said to yourself.

You ran out of the temple and into a portal to the demon world. “Hiei!” You yelled just as he was shaking hands with Mia.

“Rina! What`re you doing here?” Hiei said running over to you.

“I just wanted to tell you something before it was too late,” You told him.

“What is it?” He asked.

You, too nervous to say anything, kissed him. He returned the kiss then pulled back surprised. “How did you know that it was going to be too late?” Hiei asked you, obviously confused.

“Let's just say I had a very strange dream,” You told him.

Well that's how your story goes, you fell in love and lived with him waiting for the future to come, ready for what ever comes your way. You know how. *Winks*

“Oh and Hiei, before I forget,” You started, a sly smirk on your face.

“Ryuu no Mizu!” You yelled.

Hiei was a bit surprised, and the rest of the gang came just in time to see that. “That's to show all of you how weak I'm not!” You stated, grinning widely.

You and Mia became best friends, and as we leave this story, the Ryuu no Mizu surrounds you and Hiei, in the shape of a heart.

BlackMystique: Woohoo! I finished and I'm tired! Well I hope you all like my little YouxHiei one-shot. Oh and this is 8 pages long, with a little part of my note on page 9 though. ^^u I hope all of you are happy for making me write the longest thing I've written in such a long time.
