Chapter One.
By A.Vengeance

Chapter One.

Going about my normal everyday life, waking up, get ready, have breakfast, go to work, come home, sleep and then repeat was different for this one specific day.

It was exactly March 25th 2009; it was a warm but breezy day here in Long Island, spring was long way under swing by now.

I got about my day with taking my dinner break exactly 10 minutes later than usual because of the copy machine running slow, so I thought dinner could wait just a little.

Once stopping by the local diner to have a bite to eat, catching up with the latest chapter of the book I was currently getting into Dorian Grey.

I hear the sounds of footsteps closely by my table, then feeling a pair of eyes watching me.

I look up to see a guy with swept black hair, lip rings in each side of his bottom lip and septum piercing going on.

“Can I help you by any chance?” I just blankly stare at him.

“Oh no, not really I just notice the book you were reading and thought you seemed interesting enough to come talk to, but now that I'm here I feel bad enough for interrupting you.” He slowly starts to move from the seat.

“Wait…” I put my arm out grabbing hold of his.

“Have a seat, I'm Lindsey and you are…?” I just stare at him, watching him sit back down.

“Zacky or you could call me Zack. Either one is cool.” He just smiles at me.

“Okay Zack, nice to meet you. So what brings you here?”

“Oh nothing really, I just came to grab a coffee to head over to band practice with but you caught my eye and I thought I had to get to know you.” He twiddles with his thumbs nervously.

“Band practice cool, what you play let me guess, drums?”

“Guitar actually.”

“Nice what do you call the band?”

“Avenged Sevenfold, I doubt that you would've heard of us…”

I just smirk at him as no I haven't heard of them, but I just know that my best friend Alyssa likes them well in fact loves them, but pretty sure she's madly in-love with one of them called Synyster…Gates I think.

“I vaguely know your music; only because of my friend she adores your music.”

“And let me guess she's madly in-love with Synyster Gates the other guitarist?” He just chuckles to himself.

“Actually she is, not to embarrass her or anything but she has posters of you guys up all over her walls, it's kind of adorable when you think about it.” I just smile back at him.

I check my watch and realise I have less than five minutes to get back to work, before my boss goes ape shit and yells at me. I gather all my stuff, leave a tip and start to put my coat back on.

“Oh is that it? You tell me about your friend loving my band but nothing about yourself? That's a shame!” He frowns at me.

“I've got to back to work I'm so sorry, maybe next time I'll tell you everything about me?”

“There'll be a next time?” His smile grew wider at the thought of it.

“Only if you want…”

“YES! I mean yeah totally, I'll give you my cell number and will arrange something.” He pushes his fringe aside trying to play it cool.

Once the numbers were exchanged, I grab my bag, smile and wave goodbye to Zack. Stepping outside I breathe in the fresh air with what must be the biggest smile you could possibly see on anyone's face.

Today has just got a whole lot better I thought while heading back for work.
