The Hunt
By blackhart96

The Hunt

A girl was walking through the forest. She had long black hair which had been turned to dreadlocks by the rain. Her piercing midnight blue eyes were opened wide and scared. Her skin was a ghostly white and to contrast she wore a black hoodie, jeans and canvas trainers.

She was as scared as a rabbit caught in the headlights, her heart was racing and her breathing was laboured. Rain ran down her back like blood and the gale force wind chilled her to the bone.

Looking around her she just saw the dark green forest that covered a lot of Washington State. The canopy of green that covered her was so sodden that it provided no protection from the ice cold rain that came down like daggers.

She saw a shadow out of the corner of her eye. She spun around but saw nothing. Walking backward she bumped into something. Spinning round she saw a man. He was tall. His peroxide blonde hair was slicked back; he had gentle blue-grey eyes and prominent cheek bones. He wore a jet black t-shirt underneath a blood red shirt, blue jeans over army style boots and to finish it off a long black leather coat.

“Bloody hell, you all right” he asked seemingly concerned. He had a strong working-class English accent.

“No” she replied her voice small, “I was out with some friends and I got lost”

“Don't worry, pet, I'll walk you home” he said concerned “what's your name?”

“Amy” Amy said her voice hoarse “what's yours?”

“Spike” he replied

They walked for hours; Spike helping Amy over fallen logs and broken branches covered by the blanket of darkness.

There was a soft orange glow emanating from the street lamps as they headed towards the edge of the forest. Amy was shivering, but Spike was oblivious to the cold and damp even though he had given his coat to Amy.

They were down town. All around them were boarded up houses and shops even the occupied houses were boarded up to stop youths graffiti-ing the windows. Amy passed Spike his coat back. “Don't worry I will take it from here.” Amy said gratefully

“No, you won't be going anywhere” Spike said and air of menace in his voice.

Amy ran. Spike stepped in front of her letting his demonic face show through. His brow thickened, his eyes glowed yellow, his teeth lengthened becoming two inch long, razor sharp fangs.

Amy screamed and ran. Spike said an air of arrogance in his voice “I love it when they run.”

Spike stepped up his attack and caught up with Amy who was desperately dialling 911 on her mobile phone.

Grabbing her clothes Spike backed her against the wall bit her neck and drank deeply. Amy's hand went limp, dropping her phone on the pavement. Spike dropped Amy's limp lifeless body on the pavement and walked off. He morphed his face back to human and wiped a dribble of blood from the corner of his mouth.
