It Hurts To Much
By Cara Lynne Christ foREVer

``Uhh?'' he asked, looking bewildered. I put my head in my hands. My
mother knew them! She used to talk about knowing Jimmy ``The Rev'' Sullivan, the drummer, and talked
to him once and a while. But, the rest of them? Nope, knew nothing. She went to school with them and
as a year older, never tended to see them. That's what she had told me.
The man who was supposedly my father was famous, gorgeous, and had a voice to die for.
``Leta?'' he asked again. I finally lifted my head to look at him, tears rolling down my cheeks. I
just sat there, watching him in complete horror basically. This meant that I would either never see
him or go on tour with him. The latter scared me worse, that would mean a lot of traveling and that
would mean less seeing Lawrence and Mark.
He blinked at my wide eyed look. He finally took a step back and went down the stairs. I took slow,
shaky breaths. I suddenly heard his voice coming from the living room. Dear God. I stood and walked
down the stairs slowly.
``I'm missing you again, oh no. Once again.'' He sang and watched me now. Lawrence and Mark were
standing there, watching me.
``Oh, Leta!'' Lawrence hugged me, holding me tight around my back. I leaned my face in his shoulder.
``I love you, Leta.'' He told me quietly. I just leaned against him, keeping my mouth shut and my
eyes closed.
``Alright. Leta? We have to leave now.'' Mark told me quietly. Matthew was just silent. I heard him
stand, but let Lawrence lift me up and threw my on his back. I clung there, my eyes closed.
-----------
The funeral. Two hours of hearing I'm sorry for your loss. Two hours of having to listen to the same
fake remorse. Lawrence kept me at his side, never moving. Matthew kept away, with Mark and Mark kept
him away.
``Time to go home. One more night and I'm staying with you.'' Lawrence told me, picking me up again.
I had refused to walk, to move, to try anything. I leaned against him, but shook my head.
``I'll walk.'' I said, completely monotone. He nodded, letting me down again. I held his hand, but
made way to the car. Mark got in the driver's seat and Matthew next to me in the back seat. I closed
my eyes and then suddenly threw myself out of the car before Mark moved. I rushed to my mom's grave,
sinking to my knees. I dug my hands into the freshly dug soil, sobbing as hard as I could.
``Mommy. No, no. Mommy.'' I cried, holding my head.
``Leta…'' Matthew's voice sounded from above me. I ignored him, sobbing more, and my forehead
leaning in the dirt. I kept muttering no, no.
``You said forever. Always and forever. Then some. It might be goodbye for now, but I know I'll see
you soon.'' Matt said. I looked back, my eyes flashing. ``How do you know that?'' I snapped at him.

``I told that to your mother when she left home. She left after… A week after. I told her
that, and it's true. I never forgot her and always wanted to find her, but never could.'' He said,
staring only at the grave.
I stared at him, and then burst into another fit of sobs. I lay down on the dirt.
