Why?
By Hallie Vengeance

Ambellina sighed as she looked around the darkened room. The thick curtains were drawn making it harder for her to see her surroundings, but she made a large bed in one corner, it had dark red sheets and black pillows. The beauty in the room was almost to the point of overwhelming her. There were hand painted images all over the walls and the floors were mahogany along with the door and small writing desk in the corner. As her eyes scanned the room for more details the door creaked open slowly. Her breath caught in her throat and her eyes immediately shut. She didn't want to know who was coming in, but she slowly let her eyes flutter open to find a man, a beautiful man standing by the bed… He was heavier, but not too heavy; his hair fell over one eye, but was well kept. He was staring at the sheets and it looked like he was deep in his own thoughts as I watched him. He had green eyes, a light green, a green that no one I've ever seen had. He was suddenly shaken from his thoughts as he looked up at me.

“Oh, you're awake. Well, good morning Ambellina.” He smiled at her, his teeth showing, they were white, as white as she had ever seen.

“M-morning…” Her voice was more raspy than normal considering she had been out for no telling how long, her throat was dry and her mouth felt like it was full of cotton. She visibly cringed as he began to walk over to her, he stopped when he saw that and spoke in a soft voice, “I'm not going to hurt you Ambellina…”

She swallowed the lump that had formed in her throat and nodded, not trusting her already weak voice. She stayed still as he walked over and started to undo her restraints that were far too tight for comfort. “Th-thank you…” She rubbed her sore wrists as she followed him down the 2 sets of steps after he motioned for her.

“We'll get you some water and maybe something to eat…”

She nodded as she passed her best friend, Alex, her eyes traveled over to her as she smiled and hopped out of her seat on the couch, pulling Ambellina into a hug, which Ambellina graciously returned.

Zack's POV

I smiled softly at the two women embracing each other, I looked over to my friend and saw the single tear hanging on his chin, I knew that he had told her and I was somewhat disappointed, but I couldn't say a word, I had allowed my last victim to escape after finding out she had a family. I looked apologetically towards Brian as Matt walked down the stairs, sneering at the girls and looked at Zack as if he was being a complete asshole. “Zack. What the hell?” I cleared my throat, but didn't say a word. Brian had better suck it up or Matt would flip.

Matt glared at Brian once he noticed the tear that still hung off his chin, “Dude what the fuck is wrong with you??” Brian just ignored his harshness and stared at his black Nikes. Matt shrugged and stalked into the kitchen retrieving a water bottle and walking back upstairs. I sighed and grabbed Ambellina by her wrist gently, tugging her towards the stairs. “Let's go Ambellina.”

Ambellina's POV *Upstairs*

I sat on the bed that Zack had pointed to once we arrived in room we had come down from earlier. I didn't know what he was going to do, but I was damned if I didn't stay calm through this experience. I wouldn't scream, fight, run, that would only make it harder on me.

“So Zack, why didn't you kill me when I was sleeping?” I figured if I just got to the point I wouldn't get attached to my killer.
