Chapter 14
By xFuRiEx

Anastacia

I took a shower and then changed into a black pair of skinny jeans and a black off the shoulder top. I then started on my make-up. Brian, Zacky and Taylor were coming over to hang out for the night. I smiled at my glasses lying on my bedside table. I took Zacky's advice from two days ago. Tonight I was going to surprise them all, because I wasn't wearing my glasses anymore. My make-up was done and I headed downstairs to get the snacks and drinks ready. I found Dustin in the kitchen making him a sandwich.

“So, big party tonight?” he said.

I shook my head, “Only Taylor and the guys are coming over.”

He nodded. I didn't know how my brother felt about Taylor, though I knew she was crushing on him badly.

“I see that you've become really good friends with Brian and the baseball guy,” he noticed.

“The baseball guy?” I laughed.

“Yeah, what's his name?”

“Zacky,” I told him.

“Yes, him. I knew his name, I just couldn't recall it immediately,” he said.

“Yes, we are really good friends,” I told him.

“They haven't tried anything funny?” he checked.

“What do you mean?” I asked, pretending not to know.

“They're guys, Anna. Haven't they hit on you or asked you out or anything?”

I smiled, “Don't worry. They're good guys.”

“I know guys,” he stated. “They can't be trusted.”

“Dustin,” I laughed. “You're a guy too.”

“Yeah, so I should know,” he insisted.

I sighed, “You have nothing to worry about. They haven't tried anything.”

“Good,” he said satisfied. “Enjoy your evening.”

He put his plate in the sink and then headed out the door.

“You're a liar,” I heard Chase say.

I turned around and saw him standing in the kitchen doorway.

“Why?” I asked confused.

“They have tried something. Actually they've done more than try, at least, Brian has,” he said. “I saw you two kissing last week.”

My eyes grew wide in horror.

“Don't worry, I won't tell,” he assured me. “But I hope you're sure about this. I don't doubt that Brian's a nice guy, but he's our neighbor. If things go bad, you'll have to see him from time to time.”

I nodded, “I know.”

He smiled, “Then I hope you're happy.”

“We'll see,” I said and went to answer the door as the bell rang.

“I see you're wearing contacts,” he called after me.

I smiled, “You like?”

He nodded, “Yeah, you should keep them.”

I opened the door and obviously Brian was the first to arrive. His eyes grew wide when he saw me.

“Wow,” he said impressed. “Contacts?”

I chuckled, “Yeah, Zacky finally convinced me to start wearing them.”

He scowled, “You shouldn't let Zacky change you. You're perfect just the way you are.”

My heart fluttered, “Thanks.”

He smiled and pecked me on the lips before entering.

“You're the first to arrive. Make yourself at home,” I told him. “Can I get you something to drink?”

“Sure thanks,” he replied, following me to the kitchen. “Hey, Chase,” he greeted my brother.

“Hey, Brian,” he replied. “Sit, Stasch, I'll get it,” he offered.

“Thanks,” I smiled at my brother.

Chase was a real angel. There was a knock on the door and I went to get it again. Taylor and Zacky had arrived at the same time, to my surprise. Both smiled and said their hellos.

“You look gorgeous with the contacts,” she exclaimed.

“Thanks,” I chuckled.

“I hope you stick to them permanently,” she told me.

“That's the plan.”

“Great!” she said heading to the kitchen.

Zacky smiled at me, “You were right when you said that Taylor's a little crazy.”

I chuckled, “She has her moments, quite often actually.”

His smile grew wider.

“Now your eyes are clearly visible,” he said. “They're beautiful.”

He leaned forward and hugged me. It was good timing too, because now he couldn't see me blushing.

“Brian's already here,” I informed him. “We were just in the kitchen getting something to drink.”

He nodded and followed me to the kitchen. Chase had already gotten everyone a drink and Zacky and I took the last two. After we finished our drinks, we sat down in the living room to watch a movie. For my own safety, I sat next to Chase. It wouldn't be funny if either Zacky or Brian decided to do something during the movie. Taylor sat on the other couch with Brian and Zacky. She got along well with the guys, naturally, since she always got along with everyone. The movie ended and Taylor jumped up.

“I'm going to get some more drinks and snacks,” she announced.

“I'll help,” both Zacky and Chase offered at the same time.

The three of them left for the kitchen. Brian stretched out and smiled at me. I couldn't help smiling back. He got up from the couch and came over, sitting down next to me.

“You enjoying it?” I asked, slightly nervous.

“I'm having a great time,” he said.

I nodded, “I'm glad.”

Then he did exactly what I was nervous of. He kissed me. I would've pushed him away, because that was the plan: no more kissing, but I just couldn't do it. Jelly couldn't do anything except that, be jelly and that's exactly what I turned into the second he kissed me. What happened to the plan??? Zacky was in the next room!!! Things could get bad. Before I could panic, however, Brian pulled away.

“Stacy, you know the school is having a masquerade on Halloween. Would you go with me?” he asked smiling.

“I… Yes, I'll go with you,” I replied still slightly out of breath.

His smile grew wider and he sat back satisfied.

“Okay, ready for the next movie?” Taylor asked coming in with a tray of snacks, Chase and Zacky following with our drinks.

“Of course,” Brian said.

Everyone found a place to sit, Chase now occupied Brian's previous seat, and started the next movie.
