A soft breeze pushed against the bench of the empty park. It would normally be busy, with
children hopping around, gossiping mothers or teenagers in love, but now it stood alone with only
one guest sitting on a slide. Its guest was a young man with a mohawk, pale skin and a slight
muscular body. He sighed softly shivering. He looked at his hands frowning then looked around the
“I feel so scared...What am I going to do without you here?” He sighed leaning
his head against the post of the slide. He closed his eyes holding in his tears.
“I feel I can't go on without you...you were my best friend.” He sobbed
softly. He grabbed his shirt, wrinkling it underneath his fist, where his heart would be. He cried
out lightly at the pain that zapped at his heart. He sniffled in softly shaking his head. The tears
pouring down his cheeks.
A sudden haze went along the park, turning it as white as a paper. Then gone, the scene was gone and
all that was seen now was the open eyes of a young man. His blue eyes watered slightly as he looked
around frightened at his horrible dream.
“Johnny...” He whispered softly sitting up in his bed. He wiped his eyes softly. Getting
up from his bed to get changed into a decent pair of jeans and shirt. He grabbed his phone and
texted Johnny quickly.
“Jay, are you alright?...We havn't talked in a while...Um, I was thinking we could hang out
talk or something...Sorry for bugging you.”
He walked out of his house and towards his car quickly. He climbed in and stared at his phone
awaiting a response, he frowned.
“I don't want to leave this earth if it would cause my friends all this pain...This
fear...” He said to himself quietly, staring at his phone. He felt it vibrate in his hand, he
smiled and opened his phone quickly.
“Hey Jimmy, umm...Yeah it's been awhile...Well, honestly things could be better haha.”
Jimmy frowned at this...
“Sure, when do you wanna hang out? I think it'd be fuckin' awesome.”
Jimmy stared at his phone...Could be better....
He began to tap his fingers along his keypad lightly answering.
“Grab coffee at Starbucks? :)”
He sent it and started driving his car quickly towards the Starbucks near the mall. He felt his
phone vibrate once again within his hand.
“Sure, be there in a few.”
Just as he began to send the answer, a very drunk driver rammed his car into Jimmy's car as he
drove, sending Jimmy's car into a barrel roll across the street. Leaving the car flipped over and
terribly dented. Jimmy sat in his seat upside down, his neck at a crook from his head touching the
ceiling. His mouth trickled some blood. He stared out of his broken windows, his eyes wandered
across the street where he saw the Starbucks he was so closed to reaching. He sobbed out lightly,
his eyes began to roll into the back of his head as he went unconscious. His phone lay there, with
the unfinished message to Johnny reading...
Johnny began to walk from his home towards Starbucks quietly. He smiled to himself. He was so happy
Jimmy had texted him, he longed for a good friend to talk to. Jimmy came along at the perfect time.
He smiled looking back at the days when they'd barely leave one anothers side. They were like
partners in crime back in the day. He chuckled to himself, the height difference between the two was
He stopped at the corner of the street before crossing to Starbucks, there stood a crowd looking
onto the street. Johnny walked towards them curiously, there he saw an insane wreckage. Only two
cars, but it caused a hell of a scene. One car lay upside down dented everywhere, the other feet
away with a major dent in the front. He watched as police interviewed one man. He looked towards the
upside down car, he saw the ambulance men working on getting the man out of the car. He watched
feeling sorry for the people. He looked at his phone and frowned still not receiving an answer from
Jimmy. He looked back towards the accident to see the man from the upside down car being pulled out.
His long limp body was heaved out and put onto a stretcher. Johnny's eyes narrowed.
“Jimmy?...” He stared wide eyed, frightened it could be his friend. He grabbed his phone
quickly and began to dial Jimmy's number quickly listening.
His side rang....he heard a ring coming from the flipped car....Ring....
Johnny gasped lightly hanging up his phone and running towards the stretcher Jimmy was being pulled
on. “Is he alright?!!” Yelled Johnny urgently, dodging police who were trying to get him
to go back.
“Do you know this man?” Questioned one of the ambulance men
“Y-yes! He's my friend! Jimmy!” Yelled Johnny frantic, as he touched Jimmy's soft pale
arm. He frowned at how still he was.
“Ok sir, well come with us on the ambulance.” Said the man
Johnny nodded following them, Jimmy's head was bleeding. Johnny frowned, as they climbed into the
ambulance. “Is he gonna be alright?!” He asked holding his tear back, as the medics
began to put in IV and the driver began to drive.
“Well, outside appearance, possibly. We don't know if hes bleeding internally.” Said the
Johnny watched going insane as Jimmy continued to lay there motionless. Johnny bit his lower lip
After arriving at the hospital, Jimmy was taken into an emergency room. Johnny was left to wait in
the waiting room. He paced around holding his tears. He shook his head biting his lower lip.
“Please...Please...don't take my only friend away from me...” He whispered to himself.
He sighed after a while and sat down. Waiting. After about an hour a doctor slipped out of the
emergency room and towards Johnny. His hands folded along his back, no sign of happiness nor
sadness. Emotionless, giving no hint as to whether Jimmy were alive or not.
“What's going on Doc? Please tell me its good, please.” Begged Johnny standing up,
walking towards the Doctor.
The doctor placed his soft hand onto Johnny's shoulder. “I'm sorry my dear boy. But it would
appear your friend is hemorrhaging badly from the inside. He won't make it. I'm sorry.” Said
the Doctor, still no emotion in his dull voice.
Johnny began to cry into his hands softly shrugging his shoulder away from the doctors hand. He ran
out of the hospital. And ran all he could until he reached the park, that was empty. He sobbed
softly climbing into the jungle gym and onto the slide, looking onto the empty town crying. He felt
so alone, so scared. His best friend, Gone.
