Two and a Half Months Later...
It was almost the end of January, one of the last days in Mikey's class. Alex and I were the only
two in class, the other four people in the class were away. Emilia had been away for about a week,
no doubt plotting some evil scheme to get Mikey and Alex to break up.
Alex and I were standing behind the lab bench, holding things over the Bunsen burner and laughing as
we watched them burn. Mikey was sitting behind his desk/work bench marking papers.
"Don't burn anything too big, I don't want to be sued for blowing up half of the school." Mikey
said, pointing to us.
"It wouldn't matter. If we blew up half of the school, all of us would be dead, therefore, no suing
would be possible." Alex replied, laughing.
"True, I guess." Mikey laughed too.
"Mr. Way, report to the office, please." the intercom blared.
Mikey got a confused look on his face. He walked towards us, kissed Alex's cheek, and then walked
out the door. Alex leaned on her elbows on the bench and rested her chin on her hands.
I kept laughing as I was burnt things. In the back of my mind, I was however worring about why Mikey
was being called. He was an amazing teacher. I was worried Emilia had done something.
The end of the day bell rang. Mikey had gone downstairs about half an hour before. I was
now very concerned. Alex and I went to our lockers and then out into the parking lot. Mikey's car
was gone, and since he was our ride to school, we had no choice but to walk.
It started snowing on the way home, so that made things a lot worse. When we were in front of
Mikey's house, I saw his car in the driveway, Alex noticed it too. Alex and I exchanged confused
looks and we both walked towards the house.
I would always come over after school to do homework, I now lived with Ray, and, well Frankie, he
didn't live far from Mikey either.
I walked inside after Alex. Alex peered around as we walked in. I didn't see Mikey anywhere, I had a
bad feeling. I closed the door behind us, with a slam. I heard a noise come from upstairs.
The stairs started making noise. Alex took off her coat, backpack and shoes, and looked up the
stairs. I guessed that Mikey was standing at the top of them. I took my stuff off too, as Mikey
walked down the stairs.
He walked into the kitchen and put his hands on the counter, and then he sighed heavily.
Alex and I stayed near the front door, away from him, he looked angry. I grabbed her hand and
squeezed lightly, I could tell she was scared, and I was scared too. I gulped.
"W-What's wrong, Mikey?" Alex asked.
He didn't say anything, he turned his body towards us and stared us down, his eyebrows were
"Mikey, what's wrong?" I spoke this time, my voice scared and shaky.
"You wanna know what's wrong?" he asked. His tone of voice was scaring the hell out of me, and I
shivered. Alex and I both nodded. "Well, first of all, Emilia sent pictures of you and I to Mr.
"What?!" Alex and I both shouted at the same time.
"That's what happened. And he told me that begind with you is technically illegal. Oh, and I was
fired." he said, sighing and shrugging.
"Mikey...it's...it's alright, you and I will be fine." Alex spoke softly, taking a slight step
"What do you mean, 'you and I'? You caused me to lose my job! This is your fault!" he shouted.
"You told her you didn't care if you lost your job! You told her she meant more to you then your
job!" I shouted at him, glaring, my fist in a ball.
"Well, that was before this happened." he replied, crossing his arms and sticking his nose up in the
"Are...are you serious?" Alex asked. I saw tears starting to well up in her eyes, I stepped closer
to her. "I thought you loved me! You told me I meant more to you than your job! I-I don't
understand!" I saw the flood of tears fall from her eyes.
"Alex...I'm sorry, I didn't mean that. I didn't mean to make you cry, I'm sorry." Mikey said softly,
uncrossing his arms and stepping close to Alex.
"No, Mikey! You said that this is my fault, so if it's my fault, then I'll leave. Obviously you
don't care about hurting me, and if you don't care, then I'll leave!"
Alex ran upstairs, and I shot a death glare at Mikey then ran up after her. I helped her throw all
of her things into the huge suitcase. We went back downstairs and Mikey was standing there. He had a
look of hurt in his eyes. Alex and I looked at him for a second and then threw all of our things
"Alex, I don't want you to leave." he said, grabbing Alex's wrist lightly. I clentched my jaw.
"Too bad." Alex replied. "It's obviously my fault you got fired, so maybe if I leave, that'll make
your life so much better."
"But, I love you."
"And I thought you loved me, but you really don't. I had a feeling you'd do this anyways, I
shouldn't be shocked about it, I pretty much knew this was coming. God, I'm such an idiot, but I'm
imagining you thought the same thing."
"Alex, I do love you, and I didn't mean to say that stuff. And I don't think you're an idiot."
Alex went towards the door, I was holding my suitcase already outside, I was waved my hand, urging
Alex to come outside. I gulped as Alex turned to Mikey once more.
"If you didn't mean to say it, you wouldn't have said it in the first place." Alex sighed and walked
I walked down the street beside Alex, her head hung down. She started to cry again.
"Alex, you can do so much better than him. You shouldn't be crying." I spoke softly, unsure of what
"But I love him...and even though he said that...I do still want to be with him, but he can't take
what he said back." Alex replied, wiping her eyes.
We walked to Frankie's house. I knocked, and Frankie opened the door, smiling. His expression
changed as soon as he saw me holding Alex's suitcase and Alex crying.
"What's wrong, Alex?" he asked, moving out of the way so we could step in. Alex didn't say anything
so she just shook her head and cried more.
"Her and Mikey...technically broke up." I said, putting the suitcase down on the floor.
"What?! Are you serious? Why?!" Frankie shouted.
We all went into the living room and sat down on the couch.
"Mikey got fired because that Emilia girl sent the principal of our school pictures of Alex and
Mikey. Mikey got called down to the office, and I guess he got fired, and then he left. So, Alex and
I had to walk back to his house, and then when we got there, he told us he got fired, and then he
said that it was Alex's fault that he got fired."
Alex nodded and wiped her tears away from her eyes.
"Well, then he said he didn't mean it, but then I told him that if he didn't mean it, he wouldn't
have said it in the first place." Alex spoke
"Alex, you can stay here if you want. For as long as you would like." Frankie said, putting his arm
around her and hugging her. Alex hugged him back and shook her head.
"No, Frankie, I don't want to get in your way. I can find somewhere else." Alex replied.
"I insist. Please? I think you'll be a good roommate." he smiled.
"You really want me to stay here?"
"Yeah, of course."
Alex looked like she was thinking about it for a minute.
"Hm...fine. I guess, for now." Alex smiled slightly.
"Yay! Good." he grinned.
I called Ray and told him what happened. I also decided I was going to go back to Ray's house. I
hugged Alex goodbye, and drove over to Ray's house. Ray had given me a key, so I left myself in. I
looked over the main floor, but Ray wasn't there. I dropped my keys on the front table, checked to
make sure the door was locked and walk upstairs.
I saw Ray moving around in his room, talking on the phone. I crept closer.
"Mikey. Alex was the BEST damn thing you have ever had. Remember Janise? Yeah, she was a winner. She
used you. Alex took a beating for you, and stuck by you. You told her you didn't care about your
job, that she ment more, then you blame her. You're an asshole."
I stood by the door, as I listened to the silence.
"What ever Mikey. Call me when you've grown up, and realized Alex is the best thing for you. You can
always get another job, you can never replace Alex. Bye." I heard Ray hang up, and flop onto his
I pushed the door open, and walked toward Ray. I looked at him, and he smiled.
"Mikey?" I gulped.
"Yeah." Ray pulled me into his arms and kissed my forehead.
"Some how, this is my fault. I wish I had known about Emilia, and the pictures. Before she showed
them." I leaned my head against Ray's chest as a tear fell.
"This is not your fault. This is not Alex's. This isn't even Mikey's. Alex and Mikey were in love,
Emilia is a selfish bitch, who wanted to take that away. And she did, because Mikey was a dumbass,
and gave up the most important thing in his life. I know Mikey, he will come to his senses, and he
will ask for Alex back. I hope she will forgive him, but I hope she gives him hell. I love seeing
Alex and Mikey together, Mikey's life has changed since Alex came into it. This is not your fault
babe. I want you to know that." Ray lifted my head and kissed the tear away.
"I know, I know, but I still feel bad." I sighed.
"I know, I do to, but come on, lets just let fate work this out." Ray kissed me softly.
"Alright." I kissed him back.
"Goodnight Ray. See you in the morning." I smiled as I yawned.
Ray lifted me up and laid me on the bed, under the covers. I cuddled into Ray after he laid beside
me. I fell asleep in his arms.
