The light was shot on in the room. The lights were almost as bright as the sun, only a eye staking
white. Quite painful to someone who had just been in complete darkness, like the man sitting in the
middle of that white filled room. The man sat up and groaned, he looked around confused.
It was all he saw. He closed his eyes, then reopened trying to adjust. He stood up and began to walk
around the empty large white room. But something across the large room caught his attention. Because
on this wall, lie something not white. He walked towards it quickly. His slender figure making his
steps longer then a normal person. He stopped feet away from the wall.
“Do you believe?” Read the wall in red, underneath it lie a door. Awaiting to be opened.
He stared at it then quickly marched to the door opening and stepping through before even thinking.
He found himself in another room, more dim. All around the walls lay scenes of his life. Of his
friends. He frowned and walked in further looking at each scene. Each was the most beautifulest and
lived moments of his life. There were of course plenty. He suddenly turned his head towards the door
when he heard it shut, there stood a figure. This figure was not as tall as he, but was tall enough
and extremely muscular. His arms covered in tattoos. He backed away from the figure slightly unsure
whether to be frightened or joyed at the sight of somebody with him.
“James...” Said the figure, lurching forward towards him. A smile placed upon the mans
“Y-yes?” Gasped out James.
“You have unfortunately passed on, but I'm here to enlighten you.” Said the figure, his
smile shifting a bit.
James stared at him, taking in the information given to him. He nodded a bit. “Am I going to
heaven?” He questioned.
“Not at the moment. You're in purgatory. I'm here because I want to show you the way of the
light. I want to take you to heaven. Will you take this opportunity? Or will you stay here, in this
room for eternity? Staring at what you used to have, away from those who you could be with in
heaven?” Said the man, James stared at him. Then nodded quickly going towards him. The man
smiled and brought his muscular hand out to him. James took it but was quickly taken aback by the
coldness and force that pulled him forward.
James suddenly lost his breath then was pushed forward no longer in the room filled with memories.
He found himself in the woods. He looked around confused, in front of him ran a river. He stared at
his reflection. He stared at his pale face, the long bang that fell in front of half of his face.
Then stared at the piercing on his chin. He looked away and around for the figure that was supposed
to help him. And there he stood across the river. His muscular arms crossed along his chest. He
smiled, dimples coming across his cheeks. James stared at him, then at the river, it looked quite
“James, cross the river, we have to get going.” Said the man.
“But...” James sighed and nodded his head. He stood up from the ground then stared into
the river. He took a step into it, but fell in when no ground would touch his long leg. He felt a
strong current going down and not across. He struggled under the water, but surfaced after what
seemed like infinity. The water no longer had a current, it just sat there. The man stared at him
from land waiting. James began to swim across slowly. He looked up as he heard the sound of a light
ripple. He saw the man getting in, he had no problem unlike James had. The man was walking through
the river towards him. James stopped in his place and floated there eyes widening, he felt
uncomfortable as this man came towards him. His face no longer assuring for safety, it was a face of
pure evil. It was evil disguised within a person James now recognized. The man suddenly lunged
forward and began to hold James down underneath the water.
He struggled around trying to get the man to loosen the grip on his hair. He suddenly gasped by the
harsh tug on his hair, water pouring into his mouth and lungs. He began to drown under the mans
The man sobbed out lightly when he felt James no longer struggling under his grip. He let go quickly
and began to go for the shore, he climbed out as the current began and dragged away James' body. The
man sobbed into his arms softly, shaking his head.
“He's goin to heaven...he's going to heaven....It was the right thing...It was the right
thing” He whispered continuously to himself. He helped his friend out of purgatory, in turn
for him to go to hell. It was how it worked. James' would now go to heaven, the long river would
revive him and he would find himself in heaven. While this man, would later kill himself as another
sin he would perform just so his friend, James, would live in heaven happily.
