Gone in Six Days.
By Julia Speicher
“An earthquake occurred moments ago in the middle of San Francisco and
paramedics were there instantly. Only a few were majorly hurt, a couple wounded and on death. We'll
keep you updated on what is happening.” The news reporter said and it showed a gapping
hole so far down that you couldn't imagine the ground.
Vivian watched it completely entranced, but then the screen went black and in the reflection was her
and her boyfriend Arik.
“I was watching that!” she exclaimed as she tried to get the remote back from him.
“What'd I tell you bout watchin' the news?” he smirks and kisses her gently.
“It'll rot that perfect little mind of yours.”
“Wonder what is down there…” she says as she leans against him, letting her head
rest against his shoulder.
“Probably nothing, though you should probably get to work so that you don't get fired.”
He grabs my hands and pulls me off of the couch.
I glanced at the clock and my face dropped.
“Crap! Not again!” she yells, grabbing her keys as she rushes out the door.
“Carly, they said the hole is getting bigger.” Vivian says as she ate some of her yogurt
in the break room.
“Wonder what's down there…” she asks the same question I did as she bit into her
“Whatever it is, we don't have to worry about any of it.” Vivian mutters, shivering from
the cold of the chilly Michigan winter.
“Yeah your right.” she laughs nervously and looks at the wall clock. “Back to work
I looked at the T.V. one last time as it showed people actually going down into the hole.
“Idiots.” I muttered as I threw away my food and went back to work.
“Oh my god!” Vivian yelled as she watched in horror as a cloud of black smoke shot out
of the hole, all going in different directions. One actually knocked over the camera and showed it
entering the cameraman's mouth, only to open his eyes and they were as black as death.
She changed the channel and it seemed like she was watching the chaos in replay as millions of
people were being viewed as their deaths came into play. Buildings were on fire and people were
eating other humans alive.
She was so frightened that she screamed when her cell phone started ringing in her pocket.
“H-hello?” she asked trying to find my voice.
“Viv, are you seeing this?!” her friend Rachel asked frightened.
“Y-yes I am…” she managed to squeak out.
“What if they come here?” Rachel starts hyperventilating and I groan.
“Then we'll just have to fight as much as we can,” Viv said as she looked at the clock.
“Hun you have an appointment today, get to it.”
“Alright…” she whispered and Vivian heard her grabbing her keys.
“And don't forget your meds!” Vivian said as the line went dead.
The smell of smoke woke Vivian from a dead sleep and she saw it coming in from underneath her
bedroom door. She grabbed everything she needed, including a 9mm handgun that lay on her desk next
to her bed as she ran to the window. In her attempt at opening the window, she found that the grasp
of winter had frozen it shut and there was a banging on the door. She quickly wrapped her bed sheet
around her hand, shattering the window as she punched it as hard as she could. She climbed onto the
ledged roof that was outside of her two story window.
`It's a six to seven foot drop to the ground and into a pile of snow.' She thought as she
made the jump. All around her the chaos of the things from Cali were causing their destruction.
Demons. Fire was eating away at everything she had grown to love and the screams of all of her
neighbors pierced the night sky.
She thought of whose house to go to and it hit her, Rachel's. She lived in the house her
great-grandfather built during the threat of a bomb being dropped and there was a bomb shelter. Of
course, that was a whole seven miles out of town and Vivian lived ten miles out of town in the
`It's gonna be a long day!' she thought as took off down the road.
Blood was running down Vivian's face as she finally got to Rachel's house. She has been attacked by
her boss, who attempted to hit her over the head with a nine iron golf club. She had to shoot him
and it wounded him, so she ran the west of the way.
“Viv?” Rachel asks a little startled by Vivian's appearance.
“Are you gonna let me in or let me bleed to death?” she growled and Rachel moved aside.
“We shouldn't be hiding in here like cowards!” Arik yell as we sat in the bomb shelters
that was scattered with things from the older times.
“Arik, calm yourself.” Vivian groans as she grabs his hand, he actually glared at her
before he sighed and sat down.
“Oh yeah, go into a fight half cocked. How smart!” Rachel's boyfriend Danny yelled at
“Look, I'm going out there whether you like it or not.” Arik walked over to the door,
hand on the handle.
“No!!” they all yelled standing up as he opened the door, letting the demon's storm the
In an instant they were around everyone, not touching Vivian for some odd reason, but ripping
everyone apart. She screamed as two demons grabbed both of her arms. Arik walked up to her, eyes as
red as crimson blood and he lifted her face with a clawed hand.
“Hello love, I'm Lucifer,” he chuckled demonically and looked into her eyes.?
“Look, I'm cutting this really short, Apocalypse to go through and all, join or die.”
“I'd rather die!” she growled and kicked him in the groin. He grabbed her foot, flipping
her to the ground and crawling on top of her. He kissed her and she pulled back, landing a punch
square in the mouth, trying to get out from underneath him. It was no use.
“Remember when you gave me your heart?” he asks as he sneered at her as he ripped her
heart out of her chest. “I'm taking it now!”
So, the demons rid the Earth of humanity and Lucifer had finally won as he looked down on his
minions and the destruction that they had created. The world was burning in Hell's fire now at all
four corners, leaving it burnt to a crisp. God looked down on the destruction and turned his head,
signaling for his seven Archangels to do their job. All seven raised their swords that burned like
glowing embers in the black skies of destruction to the one they had once called their brother. It
was the eldest-Michael-who cast the fatal blow casting Lucifer down into his prison in the darkest
corner of Hell. The seven drove their swords into the ground causing a blinding white light to
cleanse the world of its impurities.
