Sitting in my hotel room
By ghostwriter

Dyllan's POV

The past few days have been rather eventful. Zacky has come by every day to hang out and get to know me. He kept on trying to buy me things, I think he felt obligated or tried to make it up to me. Money meant nothing to our little group of friends. I just simply told him that I just want to get to know him; Zacky Baker, not the infamous Zacky Vengeance.

*Day of the Dinner at Zacky's house*

“You look fine!” Ali says trying to reassure my choice in outfit. I decided on a pair of black jeans, a black and white checkered tank top with a red rose painted on it, and a new pair of black converse that Ali, Bremen, Elliot, and Amy bought me for tonight's dinner. I threw on some black, red and white bangles bracelets. Amy had done my makeup for me, red and black smokey eyes.

“Thanks, I'm just so nervous. I mean, not only am I meeting the rest of A7X, but their girlfriends and wives as well. The one I'm most nervous about meeting is Gina. I know this sounds juvenile, but what if they don't like me?” I can feel tears threatening to stain my face. I felt someone put their arm around my shoulder. I look up and see Bremen giving me his very rare sweet smile.

“They'll love you!”

“How do you know?” I felt like a child arguing with a parent.

“Because, you're an awesome chick! You care more about others then you do yourself. You're always there when someone needs you!” wow, he's being so sweet “Plus, I know everything!” ah, there's the Bremen I know. I smile and hug him.

“Thanks you guys. Well wish me luck!” I grab my purse, phone, keys, and my red chunky wool hat off the counter.

I follow the directions that Zacky texted me and arrive at a huge house….and a security guard. Yippee. I drive until he steps out in front of my car and roll down my window.

“You lost ma'am?” he says while eyeing Beastie.

“Um, no, I'm here to see Zacky.”

“Sure you are.” Gosh this guy was a douche bag.

“Yeah, my name should be on some sort of list or something” wow Dyllan, way to sound like an idiot.

“May I see your ID please, ma'am” he smugly says. I reach in my purse and grab my ID from my wallet.

“Here chief” he just scowls at my sarcasm. Hey, if you're a bitch to me, then expect the same treatment back! He checked my ID and then looked at a list. I couldn't help but smirk when I saw his surprised expression. He probably found my name. Haha sucka!!

“Sorry about that ma'am, you can go in now.” At least he apologized.

“Thanks.” I drove up the driveway and parked my car next to some of the most expensive cars I have ever seen. I get out and walk to the front door. *knock knock knock* I take a deep breath and exhale loudly to myself. Here's to hoping. The front door opens and Zacky is there with a huge grin on his face. Before I can even get a word out he swallows me in a hug.

“I was worried you might not come” he admits.

“I made a promise.” I smiled. “Plus, I wanted to come.” I see him smile at my reply.

“Come on in and meet everyone.” He pulls me in and brings me to his front room. We walk in and the rest of his band and the girls are already here. All eyes were on me, I feel like a cat in a dog pound.

“Everyone, this is Dyllan.” I just wave and smile. “Dyl, this is Matt and his wife Val” she gives me a small wave but there's something in her eyes that scream at me, almost as if she's suspicious of something. Yay, a new friend… Zack just continues introducing me to people, “This is Johnny and his girlfriend Lacey” great, she gives me the same damn look. “This is Mike and his wife Marlene” she gives me a warm smile, finally. “The Berry twins and you already know Brian.” I smile at him and he gives me a hug. Wow, he smells nice.

“Nice to meet you all.” I say as I pull away from Brian.

“Is she here??” I hear a female voice call out. I turn my head to the stairs and see a woman come running down them.

“Sorry babe, I thought you knew.” Zacky says as he gives her a small kiss on her cheek. That's so cute. She pulls away from him and makes her way towards me with a huge welcoming smile on her face.

“Hi sweetie, I'm Gina, I am so happy to finally meet you.” And she pulls me into a warm hug.

“Nice to meet you too.” I say as I pull away.

“Why don't you sit down while I go finish dinner?” she says as she guides me to an empty spot by on the couch between Lacey and Mike. “Take care of her guys!” she gives a wink and walks towards the kitchen with Zacky following. All of the sudden I feel alone.

“So, Dyllan, what are you studying?” I turn and face Marlene.

“Contemporary Dance.” I start biting my bottom lip, a nervous tic I've had since I was a kid. I see a few surprised looks on people. I guess someone that looked like me doesn't exactly seem like a dancer.

“How wonderful, how long have you been dancing?”

“Um, about 8 years now.”

“Cool, what made you get into that?” I hear Matt ask.

“A lot of things I guess. Mainly it was a way to almost go to an alternate reality.” I didn't want them knowing my past just yet.

“What do you mean?”

“Well, for me, when I dance I block out everything and just feel the music and move with it. It helps me forget about life at that moment and for a few minutes, everything feels perfect.” I look up and once again all eyes are on me. Shit, do I have some sort of sign on my forehead? I shrink back into the couch wish I could disappear.

“What would you need to forget about?” I hear Lacey ask, sounding almost rude. What the hell did I do to her? I see a few of the guys look at her; I guess I'm not the only one who felt that she was being a little bitchy.

“Um, just some issues from my past.” I look down trying to suppress my memories. I started dancing after my foster dad…. Well, I just needed an outlet. I felt a hand on my back and looked to see Mike looking at me with s sense of concern in his eyes.

“You ok love?” he asks sweetly.

“Yeah, sorry.” I lied through my teeth. I looked around and saw that almost everyone looked worried.

“Dinner's ready! Is everything ok?” Gina asks, adding the sea of worried looks. I smile and nod. “Alright then, let's eat.” Everyone gets up and heads to the table, I just wait a little for Val and Lacey to go before me.

“You coming?” Brian asks as he stretches out a hand to help me up.

“Yeah, thanks” I take his hand and feel a small electric shock travel through my body at his touch.

While we were eating dinner Johnny started goofing off by throwing food at JB.

“You little asshole!” he yells back and throws a roll at his head. Johnny flinches out of the way and accidentally knocks his glass of wine on my shirt.

“OH MY HELL!! I AM SO SORRY!” he says frantically.

“It's ok, don't worry about it. Um, Zacky, can I use your bathroom to clean up?”

“Yeah, it's upstairs, first door on your right.”

“Thanks.” I got up and walked to the bathroom.

I cleaned up and headed towards the stairs. As I was coming down I could hear Lacey and Val talking in the kitchen.

“You know it's only a matter of time before she starts digging into his money.”

“Tell me about it, did you see that little pity act she was trying to pull earlier?”

“I know.” How dare those bitches judge me? They have no clue what I've been through!

“Hey, what are you 2 ladies talking about?” I recognized Zacky's voice. Please set those whores straight.

“You know very well what we're talking about!” Val that slut!

“Yeah, she seems interested in one thing.”

“You guys don't think I'm worried too? Trust me, I'm keeping my eyes open.” that was it, I couldn't listen anymore, my own brother wouldn't stick up for me. I quietly walked back upstairs, grabbed a piece of paper and a pen from my bag and wrote a small note for Zacky. I went back down, made sure no one was around, and placed it on the table. With that I let myself out and headed back to my car. I tried my hardest to hold back the tears knowing that if my makeup got smudged my friends would know something was wrong.

“Hey how did it go?” Amy asked as soon as I walked through the door. They basically lived with me now.

“It was great! They are so nice.” I'm going to hell for sure for all the lies I'm telling. I see Ali look at my tank top and then back at me. Before she can ask I tell them about Johnny and JB's food fight. I went and changed, grabbed a blanket and a flashlight.

“Where are you going?” Bremen asks as I'm walking towards the door.

“To visit Warren.”

“Oh, you want one of us to come with you?”

“No, don't worry about it! I just wanna tell him about everything that's happened.” With that I'm out the door.

I drive for about five minutes and park outside an old gate. I walked around, found his spot, laid my blanket down, and just stared at the tombstone.

Here Lies

Warren Adams

May he Rest In Peace

I felt the tears run freely now. It felt like only yesterday he left us. We still come here and talk to him as if he were still alive. If it weren't for him and the other two boys, my foster dad would've had his way…fully.

“Hey love! I miss you so much. Why did you have to leave us like that?” I sat there wishing he were here. “Tonight was a disaster. I couldn't tell the others, I didn't want to worry them.” My makeup is probably smudged up to hell by now.

“I finally found someone from my family, and it just blows up in my face…” I pull my knees to my chest, wrap my arms around them, and rest my face in my arms and allow myself to cry in my solitude.

I knew it was too good to be true.

Brian's POV

I can't believe Lacey was so heartless when she asked Dyllan that lame ass question. In her defense, she didn't know about Dyllan's horrific past. When I saw her sink back into the couch I wanted to get up and hold her in my arms. Then to top that off, Johnny spills his damn drink all over her.

She went up to go wash up, but I haven't seen her come down yet. I walked by the kitchen and over heard Val, Lacey's and Zacky's conversation.

I walked in madder then hell. “You guys gotta be shitting me! You're having this conversation while she's here?!

“Brian, calm down.” Val says. I just stormed out hoping that Dyllan didn't hear any of it. I walked back out to the table and saw a not with Zacky's name on it. Oh shit. I opened it and read it.

Dear Zacky,

Thank you so much for everything, but

I don't think I belong in your world,

and I think some of your friends feel the same.

I don't wanna be a burden to you. I'm sorry

to leave like this but I don't want to come

between you and your friends. It was

nice to find someone related to me. Please

know that I am grateful for everything you

went through to find me. Maybe if things were

different. I don't know. I love you.

Thanks again,

Great, this is going to break Zacky's heart, screw that; I'll go talk to her. I grabbed the note, crumpled it up, and re-wrote a new one:

Took Dyllan to change her clothes.

Be back soon,

I hope he buys it. I drove to her hotel, but saw her pulling out, so like a creeper, I followed her. I saw her park outside a graveyard… “Ok?” I said to myself, waited a few minutes, got out and followed her, keeping my distance. I walked in silence til I heard her voice. I hid behind a gravestone and just listened. Who the hell was she talking to? I looked over and saw her sitting next to another gravestone. I listened in finally.

“Hey love! I miss you so much. Why did you have to leave us like that?” She sounded so hurt “Tonight was a disaster. I couldn't tell the others, I didn't want to worry them. I finally found someone from my family, and it just blows up in my face…” I heard her crying and wanted to go and comfort her, but the she continued talking;

“I wish you were here, you'd know just what to say. I had a small taste of what my life could be like… but those bitches don't want me around, they were saying some sort of bullshit about me trying to get his money or something….they don't even know me…” she did hear them… shit, way to screw with her trust guys. “I-I-I don't know what to do!” I heard her cry harder; I couldn't sit there any more. I got up from my hiding spot and rushed to her side. She looked so small and fragile. I knelt down and pulled her towards me. I felt her flinch and look up at me. She pulled her hands to her face and started violently rubbing her tears away. I grabbed her hands preventing her from doing further damage to her beautiful face.

“W-what are you doing here?” she finally asked, her eyes puffy and red.

“I kind of followed you here.” She just looked at me with confusion. I pulled out her note from my pocket.

“Oh.” Was all she said, she just looked down, almost ashamed. I pulled her closer to me; she didn't pull away this time.

“I found this on the table, I wanted to come and talk to you before you cut Zacky out of your life completely.” I felt her tremble against me, I looked down at her, it seemed like she was trying to hold back her tears. “He didn't read it, if that's what you're worried about.” Hopefully that will calm her down. I saw her expressions lighten a little. She still looked so hurt. “And as for Val and Lacey, just ignore what they said. Believe it or not, they're just really worried about Zacky.”

“I understand, believe me, I'm the same way, but did they have to judge me so fast? As soon as I walked through the door it felt as though they were there to expose me for some gold digging bitch.” Her cries got harder. They really got to her.

“Don't take what they said to heart. Just ignore it sweetie.”

“It's not that.” She whispered, still looking down. I started running my hand up and down her back.

“What is it then?”

“When I was little I always wished that someone from my family would come and find me. Now, its finally happening and I don't want him to think that I just want his money and fame… I just want to know my older brother.” By now her tears have almost stopped. “I'm sorry.” She says quietly. Whoa, didn't see that one coming.

“Sorry for what?”

“Making you listen to me ramble. You don't need to hear it.”

“No, its ok. I came here for both Zacky and you.” I heard her scoff.

“Why me? I haven't been your best friend for years. I don't want you guys to lose that, it sucks when you lose someone you love.” I saw her look slightly towards the gravestone, and a few tears fall down her cheek, I reached up and gently wiped them from her face. Oh hell she had amazing skin. She looked at me and slightly smiled. I left my hand on her face and leaned in. I grazed her lips with mine; I felt her l press her lips against mine. Her lips were so soft.

All of the sudden I heard my phone go off. SHIT!! Thanks irony, you bitch…

“Brian? It's Zacky, are you guys almost back to my place?” damn you damn you damn you!!!

“Um, almost, she's just finishing up.” I look at her and smile. She just nods and gets up and starts gathering her things. She must know it's him.

“Ok, just hurry. See you soon…”

“Yup, bye.” I hung up my phone, stood up, and looked at her again. Under the full moon she looks like a sex goddess! “Sorry, so um, are you up to giving them a second chance?” I watched her as she thought things over. Please say yes.

“Um, I don't know, I really don't want to face Val and Lacey.”

“Please? I promise I won't let them hurt you.” I took a step forward and took her free hand in mine. “Please?”

She let out a sigh and looked at me and bit her bottom lip.

We walked away, her hand still in mine. Hell I hope this lasts! We walk to our separate cars and drive back to Zacky's place.

Dyllan's POV

When I got in my car I quickly text the guys and tell them that I'm headed back to Zacky's house and follow Brian. Holy shit was that a wild ride I just took. My emotions have been shot up and down tonight. I once again parked my car and stepped out, only this time, Brian came to my side and took my hand, but I was still nervous. Brian must've sensed.

“What's wrong, Dyl?” Dyl, not sure how I feel about that.

“I just don't want them to think that I have my `gold digging' hooks in you now.”

“They won't think that, plus they'll be happy to see me over Michelle.” I faked a smile, but he saw through it.

“If you want, we can hold off on telling people. We can just hang out and see where it goes. Sound good love?” he says and lets go of my hand.

“Is that what you want to do?” I asked, I care more about his feelings then mine. Ever since I met Amy, I've always put myself last; I wanted to be a good older sister.

“Well, not really, but I don't care what they think, I'll shut them up.”

“Ok then Mr. Gates,” I took his hand back in mine, “shall we?” he looked at me and gave me one of his sweet smiles.

“We shall.” We walked back in, made our way back to the living room here it comes, scowls from every one. I was surprised when they all just looked at us and smiled, I could've sworn I heard a few `awes' as well. I felt someone's arm fall on my shoulder; I looked up and saw Zack wearing a goofy smile. Ok, so far I'm 99.9% sure that their bodies have been taken over by some strange race of alien. Please don't eat me.

“We missed you!” he says in my ears. I just smiled back.

After a little while I walked out to the back deck and sat down on one of the lawn chairs, I was never good with big groups of people. I heard a pair of footsteps, wait no, I heard 2 pairs… this should be fun.

“Hey Dyllan, can we talk?” I look up and see Val and Lacey side by side. Oh boy, here it goes.
