Chapter Seventeen-Caught
By haleyhollows

~Chapter Seventeen/Caught

Jimmy texted me again. I happily ignored it. He called and left a voicemail. “Jessie, Darling, if you don't answer your god damned phone, I'll fuggin come over there.” I got dressed for work, and left.

If you're going to come find me, I'm at work. Xoxo. I sent him.

I'll be there bby. He texted back quickly.

Gena was messing around with the dye when I walked in. She told me Brian had stopped in, with a note. I threw it out. “Whoa. Someone's not happy.”

He can suck my dick. I spat. I didn't mean to take my frustration out on Gena; but I didn't want to talk about him.

“Well,” She laughed, “someone's a bit moody.”

“Yeah.” I said shortly. Jimmy walked in. “Hello, ladies.” He smiled. He sat in the chair in front of my mirror.

“I wanna dye my hair green.” He laughed. “Do it, I'll pay for it.”

“Jimmy. No.” I laughed. He pulled me in his lap and we talked. Suddenly, Brian walked in. “Whoa.”

“Hey.” I said. He glared at me. I could tell he was pissed about me sitting on Jimmy's lap. Fuck him.

“What's up my brotha?” Jimmy said, feeling the tension.

“Nothing much.” Brian shot. “Bri, we're about to open, so-”

“I'll leave. Bye.”

Well, that wasn't awkward at all. After all, I was sitting on his best friend's lap after breaking up with him like three weeks ago. Whoa. Three weeks already? Wow. I was doing pretty well without him. So what would I do without him now? Hmmm…what to do…what to do…

I went to Jimmy's apartment after work to hang out. We talked about Brian.

“So, you guys are like, over, over?” Jimmy asked.

“Yup.”

“Well, new cuddle buddy, its cuddle time.” He laughed, pulling me in his arms. I rested my head on his shoulder, while his hands rested in my waist. I looked at him, smiling, and suddenly he kissed me.

“Jim.”

“Was that bad?”

“Well, no, but I just broke up with your best friend.” I said softly.

“So…I can't be your fuck buddy either?”

“No.” I laughed. His lips pressed mine again.

“Or kiss buddies?

“Not even kiss buddies. What about Leana?”

“Oh. Whoops.” He laughed, his grip lessening around me. I layed down on the couch, resting my feet on his lap. We watched Fear and Loathing in Vegas, our favorite movie. He was basically all I had right now.

So, I had dated Brian for a while, then he suddenly got fed up about stupid shit. My heart hurt thinking about it. Jimmy, my best friend, had just asked me if he could be my sex buddy, and I was friends with his girlfriend. I wanted Brian back secretly, but I knew that would seem desperate, so I just kept my distance. Now I was laying on Jimmy's couch, watching a movie and thinking about it. I needed to get out of here. Back to Chicago. That was where my heart wasor was it here with Brian? No, no. Back in Chicago. My mom and dad were buried there. My heart was there. But BrianI just had to get the fuck out of here! Huntington Beach was making me become stupid. I needed to just pick up and move, just leave, just get out of here…I needed to get away from everyone, everything…

How would I get out of Huntington Beach without saying goodbye to Brian?
