Early Sunsets Over Monroeville
By MoniIsAHomicidalManiac

Late dawns and early sunsets, just like my favorite scenes
Then holding hands and life was perfect, just like up on the screen
And the whole time while always giving
Counting your face among the living

I sat on a cold rock, gazing into the empty, frost covered Atlantic ocean. Franks head rested in my lap. He was weak, his face pale and fragile. My best friend was dying. The one I sadly loved was dying. Loved with a passion. Sure we were both wed, but I've oddly always had a secret adoration towards him. Our tragedy was just like the ones in the films we loved to watch together before I knew I loved him.

Up and down escalators, pennies and colder fountains
Elevators and half price sales, trapped in by all these mountains
Running away and hiding with you
I never thought they'd get me here
Not knowing you'd change from just one bite
I fought them all off just to hold you close and tight

Earlier that day, the boys and I played at the hot topic at the local mall. There were the typical fans we've seen before, and some we haven't. It was the usual set list, a few songs from every album and some new material. Once we finished playing, we just packed up and headed out. It was late, and we could tell the thrills were gone.

In the parking lot, a girl with straight, long black hair approached Frank. Her eyes were empty and her skin was ghost white.
``C-Can I have a hug?'' She asked shyly, with a shrill sounding voice.
Frank gently hugged her, thinking nothing of it. She then clasped her teeth around his neck, and he let out a gasp of pain, collapsing to the ground. I pushed her away, and she let out a threatening hiss and ran away from the scene so fast no one would have seen her.
Trying to get Frank back up on his feet, I noticed the two red circles on the side of his neck. Bite marks. His lids were slowly closing and his breathing slowed.
I wrapped my arms around Franks thin frame. He was so frail, it felt as though if I weren't cautious enough I could shatter his body into pieces. Pulling him closer to me, I could hear the deep sound of his heart beat slowing.

But does anyone notice?
But does anyone care?
And if I had the guts to put this to your head...
But would anything matter if you're already dead?
And well should I be shocked now by the last thing you said?
Before I pull this trigger,
Your eyes vacant and stained...

``Ray,'' Frank whispered softly, ``don't let me live like that.''
I knew what he meant. I knew exactly what he meant. I gently picked him up and put him in the passenger seat of my car. In a hurry, I carefully climbed over him to the driver side and started towards the ocean.
When we arrived to the empty beach, I took out the hand gun I always kept under my seat and looked at it. Sighing, I knew what Frank want me to do. And with tears in my eyes, I got Frank out of the car and walked him to the shore with the gun in my hand. I lied him on the ground, close to myself, and he opened his eyes to look at me. He had the same empty glare in them as the girl who bit him.

But does anyone notice?
But does anyone care?
And if I had the guts to put this to your head...
And would anything matter if you're already dead?
And now should I be shocked by the last thing you said?
Before I pull this trigger,
Your eyes vacant and stained...
And in saying you loved me,
Made things harder at best,
And these words changing nothing
As your body remains,
And there's no room in this hell,
There's no room in the next,
And our memories defeat us,
And I'll end this direst.

The sun was about to meet the horizon, and I knew I didn't have much time. I knew I didn't have much time until Frank turned into- into a vampire. I had to kill him. Soon. The lyrics we wrote, the movies we watched, the books we've read. It was just like we were living in them.
Frank looked into my eyes, and I gazed into his to find that they weren't empty like a vampires; they had love and fear in them. Along with joy and anger. They had life in them.
``Ray,'' his voice was no longer a whisper, it was a faint sound that echoed through my head, ``always remember that I love you.''
Tears then fell down my cheeks, and landed in his soft, beautiful black hair. The orange sky taunted me and I knew that I was in a photo finish tragedy. I removed his head from my lap and stood up, pointing the gun at the ground, where his head was.
``G- Goodbye, Frank.'' I sobbed softly.
``Goodbye, Ray, it's been a good time.'' He smiled.
I pulled the trigger and felt my heart break.

But does anyone notice?
But does anyone care?
And if I had the guts to put this to your head...
But does anything matter if you're already dead?
And should I be shocked now by the last thing you said?
Before I pull this trigger,
Your eyes vacant and stained...
And in saying you loved me,
Made things harder at best,
And these words changing nothing
As your body remains,
And there's no room in this hell,
There's no room in the next,
But does anyone notice there's a corpse in this bed?
