My wife- As told by Zacky Vengeance
By KimberlyKaotic

I loved coming home after a long day in the studio. I said as I got out of my car and noticed that the flowers that had been planted last spring started to bloom. I could see her now, dirt on her nose, grass stains on her knees and a slight sunburn across her freckled shoulders.

“Babe, you know we have gardeners for this.” I said to her.

“Yeah, but Zacky, you were gone all day and I got bored.” She said standing up and wiping the grass from her jeans. “And look, they didn't separate the gladiolus, the poor babies had no room to grow. They have to be thinned out every spring, you know.”

My wife was so cute when she was on a mission.

I entered the house, there was music playing, some slow country song, George Strait I think it was. She had such eclectic tastes. She was a surprise, never predictable; unless it was a football game and her team lost… then you could always count on her to scream and stomp around the house, throwing the pillows from the couch at the television.

My wife was so cute when she was angry.

I greeted our German Sheppard- Rottweiler mix, Nellie and stood in the kitchen doorway, watching her cook. God she was beautiful, not in the traditional sense, but she was gorgeous none the less. Her eyes were the color of Jack Daniels and her smile could light up whatever darkness I was feeling. She could also make the best food I've ever eaten. I know I've gained at least 9 pounds since we started living together, I've only kept most of it off because… well she takes care of my physical needs as well.

I smiled as I watched her. She was wearing one of my Vengeance University hoodies and a pair of …

“Honey are those my boxer shorts?” I asked leaning against the door frame. She always stole my clothes. She claimed that they were more comfortable than hers. I don't care; she'd look sexy wearing a potato sack.

“You're home!” She said with a smile, and she skipped over to me, arms open. She jumped on me and wrapped her legs around my waist. Her arms went around my neck, and her lips went against mine. I loved her kisses. They were sweet, and she tasted like sunshine. I never really felt at home until she hugged me. Her embrace was my haven, her arms my fortress and her love- everything I need.

“I missed you,” She said against my lips.

“I missed you too.” I smiled against hers.

I slowly let her legs fall to the floor; I knew she needed to check on dinner.

“Yes, these are your boxers. I couldn't find my vengeance shorts, and these… well these are my Vengeances' shorts, I thought they were better.” She said with a grin. Gods, she was so cute.

“Oh Zacky listen!” She said as she turned up the volume on her computer. It was my voice, singing to her, a gift for our 6 month anniversary. I had asked her what she wanted, and she told me. I just want you and me, and a little alone time. She never really asked for anything, she was just grateful for what she had. She was grateful for the little things- songs I would write, origami cranes that I've tried to teach her to fold, but she can never get the paper in a straight enough line. She was in love with the sound of my voice, and she would lay her head on my chest just to hear my voice rumble. She loved my hands, my tattoos and the piercings on my lip. She loved my eyes.

Baby they're like ice, like ice on the ocean.

She loved my hands, though “They're not as pretty as Brian's, but you've got gorgeous hands.”

She would kiss my fingertips, and then my wrists. She loved every piece of me, and I loved every piece of her.

I helped her plate up the food and we moved to the patio to watch the sunset fall beneath the horizon. We had a table created just for that. Where she could lean on me, or I on her, and we could just be.

“Babe, you know I went to the doctor's the other day right?” She asked, taking a sip of her pomegranate Italian soda.

“Yeah, did you get the blood work done like you were supposed to?” I asked, a bit afraid that something had come out wrong. She'd had a scare a while back with cancer, I was there the entire time, by her side, holding her hand. She survived, I'm glad, because if she didn't, I wouldn't have either.

“Yeah, everything's fine.” She took another sip of her soda “ the tests came out fine, we're pregnant, I don't have an abnormal amount of white blood cells, the bone marrow is fine. We're good .” She smiled into her glass

“Well that's goo- We're what?!” I practically screamed.

“Pregnant.” She stood up to clean the plates off, as if she'd said something mundane. The cancer treatments were supposed to have left her sterile, or at the very best given her a low chance of procreating.

“How far along? When's the due date?”

She smiled, tears were in her eyes, “ October, 31st.”

Our anniversary. I started to cry, full out, cry. Like a baby. She'd made me happy by breathing, but now, now she' d made me even happier and I didn't know that it was possible.

My wife was so cute when she did that.
