Time To Dance
By SteffiSevenfold

Matt never came tonight like he said he would.
I wanted to dispise him for it. But you know how eighteen year olds in highschool are; can't hate the boy you love.
I fell asleep on the couch and when I woke, the first things I heard were hollow voices coming from my right,
"Animals of all kinds, slaughtered and taken away. There's no trace of fingerprints or footprints. The only adult animal not taken is a black panther, which was brutally murdered. More on this tonight at ten."
I got up and walked out of the living room, not knowing if any one was in there or what time it was. I looked around and noticed it was dark.
Then I walked to the kitchen and pulled the fridge open, pulling out a coke and some chocolates out of the freezer.
I looked at the clock and did a double take. 2:27 AM.
I shook my head and walked back to the living room, thinking of anything to trace my thoughts away.
I sat down and grabbed the remote, clicking on the guide button.
The news is over now. Fuck, I thought vilely. Why couldn't I wake up now?
Everytime I close my eyes, I see those images. I dropped the remote in my lap and pressed my fingers to my temple, rubbing the images away.
Why, oh fuck why, did Matt have to pull me out of school today?
I opened my eyes and grabbed the remote again, searching the channels and landing on Jackass.
That always makes me laugh. Always.
I took a bite of my chocolate and let it melt in my mouth.
Then I took a sip of my coke and swished it around my mouth. I tried swallowing it unsucessfully when the Jackass crew played Sweaty Fat Fucks.
A grin stayed placed on my face the rest of the marathon, my thoughts gone for just a short while.
-
I woke up again by the feel of someone shaking my arm gently and someone else jumping violently on my body.
Fuck. I was only sleeping for an hour, maybe. Why couldn't anyone else see that?
"Get the fuck off of me before I break your ass."
My words were mumbled into a pillow and I rolled over when the weight was lifted from my body.
"It's three in the afternoon, Val, get the hell up before I break your ass."
Three in the afternoon?
When did I go to bed? Four in the morning. And now it's three?
I just slept the damn day away.
I rolled over again, so my butt was safely tucked against the back of the couch.
"Why do I need to get up?"
I could nearly smell my breath, and it was rank. My words sounded sleep hazed, which, well, they were.
"Matt's here and he wont go away, that's why."
Shit. Matt.
I'm still pissed at him for not coming back and leaving me to my thoughts.
"Tell him to go away and I'll call him later."
"I tried to tell him to go away, he wont."
"Michelle, tell him to fucking go away, I'm goddamn sleeping,"
My face turned to the pillow again and I let out a deep breath, hearing my sister leave the room.
"Fucking a," incoharent due to the sleep heavy in my voice and because of the cloth I burry myself in.
The ancient wooden doors screeched and I heard the click click click click of heels against hardwood.
"Michelle, what on earth do you want?"
"Matt wont leave," she sounded irritated. "He doesn't believe that you told him to go away."
"Is he in the other room?" I'm suprised that she knew what I said in my unstable state.
"Yeah, why?"
I lifted my head just enough so my words wern't muffled and nearly blew my vocals, yelling, "Matt, I'm fucking sleeping!"
I put my head back down and burrowed into the couch, hearing my sister's heels click and the old doors squeek viciously.
I closed my eyes and begged for sleep, but hell. I'm completely awake now and the only person I even want to hang out with I'd just told to get the fuck out.
I'm a genius.

Bored. It's Friday and my best friend's working.
Don't feel like hanging out with anyone else and so you lucky people get a new chapter!
