Eulogy of a Martial Artist
By David A. Tatum

Forgive me for any spelling errors... just copied this from a disk.
I dunno why I felt like writing a darkfic. I guess it was just the mood I
was in. Oh, well- here's the fic. Enjoy.
Eulogy Of A Martial Artist
A Ranma Spamfic by David A. Tatum

Author's Notes: I dunno- was just bored, and feeling kinda tired. Thought
I'd write something, but I wasn't at home at the time and so I couldn't
work on any of my major projects. So, consider this little, probably
rather cliche fanfic that I wrote in a half-hour's time a little something
to keep the boredom out.

Oh, by the way, as you might have guessed from the title, this IS a dark
fic, so be warned....
-------------------------

"He was such a manly man," Nodoka intoned, feeling a sadness she never knew
before.

Akane wept, unable to believe he was dead. What made it all the worse was
that his funeral had to be scheduled for the anniversary of her mother's
death... the loss of two people who she was close to during so close a
period of time was just too muck for her. And even worse than that- she
had been the one do discover the body. She turned and sought out her
father's embrace, looking for that comfort she so desperately needed.

"There, there, daughter," Soun soothed. "Maybe...." He glanced over at
Genma, currently in human form. It was such a solemn occasion that even he
had to show his respect as best as he could- and that included by staying
human for this important event. "Maybe, after the... incident... with
Ukyou, this is for the best-" Soun continued.

Akane tore away from him, horrified that her father could even think such a
thing. "Daddy, I can't believe you said that! Despite what he did with
Ukyou, he didn't deserve to die! No-one deserves to die- especially not
like that..."

Shampoo interjected here, having overheard what Soun had been saying.
"Violent Girl right. No-one deserve to die that way. He have many too too
good qualities, despite what he do with Spatula Girl."

"At the very least," Cologne added. "You could at least admit he was one
of the best martial artists ever."

"Yes," Genma agreed, catching on to what was being said. "I may not have
wanted to admit it while he was alive, but he was a true martial artist, in
every sense of the word."

Silence followed that statement for a moment. No-one had expected him to
say that.

Akane sniffed, trying to control her tears. "I can't believe I kept
calling him a pervert so often."

"I think it was pretty obvious he was one, after the Ukyou Incident," Soun
muttered. It was obvious that the event had seriously effected the man.

"Even so, I never should have said it!" Akane screached. "And I kept
hitting him when perhaps he didn't deserve it, and-"

"Trust me, Akane, he deserved it most of the time," another voice intruded.

"Oh? And would you like it if I hit YOU that often?" Akane shot back.

"You already do," Ranma noted. "More often, in fact, and for less cause.
Ya know, I woulda thought you'd have been angrier, considering it was YOUR
panties the old pervert suffocated on."

Akane looked saddened. "Well... perhaps I would be, but... after seeing
his body in such a horrific pose, I just..."

Ranma nodded. "I know, Akane... I know. Come on, lets get out of here-
funerals always give me the creeps."

Akane sighed. Same old Ranma.

As the funeral party left the cemetary, a wind blew around the headstone.
And if one listened hard enough, they could almost hear the wind saying
something.

"Paaaaaaantiiiiiiiiies...."
