After Tonight...
By --->alysha

I sat huddled in the darkness of my room. The only light flashed in
through the window after the lightning struck. I closed my eyes and breathed slowly, feeling my
chest rise and fall with every breath. I shook as a boom of thunder rattled the house. It got quiet,
so I reached over and put my hand to the lighter, snatching it and lighting the candle beside me.
The lightning flashed again and sent me into a mild panic. I felt tears begin to fall down my cheeks
softly, my broken face being soaked by the salty drops. The candle flickered slowly, bringing more
light around the room. A tiny gasp escaped my mouth as the door creaked open. Slowly, a black figure
appeared in the doorway. My breathing relaxed and I tried my hardest to fake a smile. The figure,
I'd come to know as Zacky, shuffled toward me.
``What's the matter?'' He smiled genuinely and sat down beside me. I tried to muffle
my sniffle with a tissue, resulting in suffocation rather than muffling.
``Nothing, just go away Zacky. You're just gonna tell Syn about this later then I'm gonna be the
joke of the week!'' He snickered and put a hand on my shoulder, running his thumb over my shoulder
blade repeatedly.
``It can't be that funny. If anything, it would probably joke of the day,'' he mumbled. I smacked
him in the stomach and sniffled openly.
``Ouch. Would you just tell me? I promise I won't tell Brian,'' he said solemnly. I raised my
eyebrows and turned to face him.
``Or anybody else?'' He smiled and held up a pinky. I smiled and wrapped my pinky around his,
shaking on it.
``Pinky swear I won't,'' he promised. The thunder banged again, causing me to shutter lightly. I
took a deep breath and look at toward Zack, staring into his beautiful orbs.
``This is gonna sound really stupid, but I'm terrified of storms,'' I cried. He smiled and wrapped
me in a tight hug.
``Honestly, that doesn't sound stupid at all. To tell you the honest truth, the only reason I came
into your room was because I'm just as scared of storms as you are.'' I widened my eyes and shook my
head repeatedly.
``Nuh uh!'' He nodded and chuckled slightly. I gave Zack another hug, taking a deep breath, smelling
the mix of cigarettes and cologne coming off of him.
``It's nice to know, that you care more about you comfort than mine, Zacky,'' I joked. He laughed
and rolled his eyes slowly.
``Oh, stop. You know I care about you. Good god…'' Moments later, we realized the lightning
had stopped, letting us hear the rain clearly.
``That, is the only reason I can get through a storm. The peacefulness of the rain after it,'' he
murmured gently. I nodded in agreement and looked down at our fingers. Realizing our fingers were
laced together perfectly, I smiled, gripping them softly. He looked down, seeming to just notice
what was happening too. We both chuckled and I looked out the window, seeing the rain crash against
the cement. A hand touched my face, turning me to face Zack. He looked at me for a moment before
putting his lips to mine.

I've come to a fork in the road for WTC, Motherfucker. So while I'm debating, wrote this fic.

Don't be mad at me because it's so short! Hehe :]
