This Is What Happens
When You Leave Jimmy
By Lillith Thursday
Zacky had just finished putting away the groceries when he
glanced over to the refrigerator, a pale yellow Post-It with the words. "Go to our music room.
Jimmy" written on it. Doubting it was anything serious, the jade eyed man trudged his way up the
staircase, fearing Jimmy may jump out to scare him at any moment. Zacky then remembered that Jimmy's
car wasn't in the driveway when he pulled in; figuring Jimmy was off getting hammered with the rest
of their band.
When the green eyed man entered the room, there wasn't anything out of the ordinary standing out
until his observant pupils spied another Post-It. Zacky picked it up and sat down in the rolling
chair, the wheels squeaking over the wooden floor. "Put the cd into the stereo and listen." It read.
Looking at the desk, the pierced lipped man picked the clear cd case up from the desktop, reading
the "Jimmy wants you to hear this" message scrawled in his boyfriend's handwriting. Zacky rolled his
eyes at Jimmy's third person statement.
Popping the cd in as told, Zacky listened to a few seconds of silence attentively before Jimmy's
lispy voice came into focus.
"Zacky, I wanted to let you know what I was up to all those times you left me alone in the house. I
finally perfected it over the last year. I know what you're thinking before you say anything to
yourself because I know you will."
Zacky smiled, Jimmy really did know him all too well.
"... A year for just one song. I know that's lame to do but I wanted to make it perfect like I said.
Here it is. Try not to laugh your ass off at my pathetic excuse for a love song when I come home to
The cd went to another few seconds of silence until an acoustic guitar strummed a steady rhythm.
Zacky's eyes scanned the room at all the instruments they had in there, settling on one of Jimmy's
guitars, an acoustic with smudgy fingerprints. "That must have been the one." He said to
Every road that
I've been down
The only truth that
I have found
There's only one thing
I can't live without
Zacky leaned back in the black, leather chair; his hands behind his head. "This isn't bad at all."
I was searching
For something I thought
I would never find
Losing my mind
In and out of bad love
I thought I was born to lose
Then came you
I thought I knew what the real
But nothing shakes me like
Your love does
I've been hypnotized
Now I realize
The chorus kicked back in and Zacky removed his hands, leaning back over to the desk. Jimmy really
had written a love so for him. It made him tingle from the inside out.
Every time I get lost
In a temperamental mood
You still stay cool
Just when I think that this
Life's about to drive me insane
You take the reins
Every time I feel I'm drifting
You're my compass, you're
My one true north
In a mixed up world
You make sense to me boy
The emerald eyed man sighed contently, sucking his lip rings around his pouty lips. He had no idea
that his boyfriend could be so... romantic. The blue eyed male sang the chorus again for the third
time, the song getting better with every word.
Yeah, every road boy
Leads me to you
And baby, that's all I need
To know
The azure eyed man broke it down and this made Zacky's stomach flutter inside with thousands if not
millions of butterflies as he placed his crossed arms down on the table with his head down, staring
at the stereo like a love sick teen. The chorus repeated again twice, the first time a bit
Every road that I've been
Down in my life
Every time I feel I'm taking off
Every road that I've been
Down in my life
Every road, baby, leads
Me to you
Yes it did
Every road boy
Every road leads me to you
The song had ended and the green eyed male wiped a small tear away from his cheek.
"Shocked that I actually wrote that?" Jimmy said abruptly.
Zacky turned around in the desk chair towards the door to see his boyfriend with a smirk on his
face, leaning against the door
"I didn't hear you pull up."
"I guess I'm just sneaky like that." The taller male said with a smile.
The blue eyed man unfolded his arms and walked over to where his boyfriend was sitting.
"So by the look on your face, I'd say you liked it."
" Jimmy baby, I loved it." The shorter man stood and wrapped his arms around his boyfriend's lanky
Jimmy placed a soft kiss to Zacky's dark hair.
"I worked really hard on that because I love you so much. I didn't expect you to cry though."
The shorter man nuzzled his face into Jimmy's chest.
"It just made me happy that you would do something like that for me." he mumbled into his
"Well, you do have to find other ways to express your love besides sex, right?"
Zacky pulled away and looked into the other man's azure colored eyes.
"Right." Zacky smiled brightly.
"That song's not the only thing I'm doing for you."
The green eyed man lifted an eyebrow.
"And what would that be?"
"You know those groceries I mentioned for you to get today?" The slightly older man said as he
rubbed Zacky's shoulders.
"Well, this time, I'm making dinner for you tonight."
Zacky ran a finger down Jimmy's chest.
"Oh really?" The shorter man cooed.
"And if you want to help, then you can but I want to do most of it."
Jimmy shook his head and motioned for Zacky to jump onto his back.
"A piggy back ride for you as well." The taller male smirked.
The shorter man hopped up on his lover's back before Jimmy took them both downstairs to the
The jade eyed man patted his boyfriend's shoulders to notify him to place the shorter man down.
Jimmy walked over to the stove, turning it on as he opened the drawer below it to grab a pan.
The green eyed man took his boyfriend's hand in his own, rubbing the back of Jimmy's hand with his
"Have I told you how much I love you lately, Jimmy?"
"You just did, Baby." The taller of the two said to the younger, his attention now on his lover
instead of the pan.
Zacky smiled at his boyfriend before pulling Jimmy to his face and laying a soft but passionate kiss
on the taller man's lips.
