Ryan and I got into the our fourth fight this month, and he had went into his silent don't talk to anyone but Spencer mode. I was pissed, that was always his solution to everything when things got bitter between the two of us. I wanted to get married and he didn't, he claimed he wasn't ready. He always claimed that, every time it was brought up in the conversation. Then he'd storm off and not talk to me. I frowned, if he could just give me a reasonable answer.

So if I ask you to stay,
You'll remind me
that your mind's made up
And you had enough of us,
of us
And I'd say

I woke up in the middle of the night to find him hunched over the counter writing a note
“Whatcha ya doin'?” I asked, he looked up jumping slightly. I had scared him, he smiled slightly.
“Brendon, I um, I think it's time that we take a break I mean the two of us, I think I've had enough. We always fight now a days and I need some space.” He stammered out, nervously.
“Then stay we can talk about it can't we,”
“You say that all the time lets talk about it, Brendon I've tried talking about it with you
, you always get so distracted, that I get frustrated talking to you about it,”
“Please,”
“My minds already made up I'm leaving,”

So if I ask you to stay
You'll remind me
that your mind's made up
And you had enough of us,
of us
And I'd say,
Oh I'd say wait...

“Wait, we need to talk about this,” I said jumping in front of the door. I wasn't about to back down from this, I wasn't about to let him leave.
“What now Brendon,”
“Ryan I wont make you marry me just yet if you don't want to if you don't wanna talk about it I wont mention it. Ryan if you wanna talk I'll practice and try real hard to listen without being distracted. Just don't leave.” I said pleading my case for him to stay he stared blank faced at me not knowing what to do, he was thinking, debating with himself on what to do.

I hold my breath and wait for your reaction
Stand my ground
'cause I'm not ready to back down
I know, but where could I go?
Wait for your reaction,
wait for your reaction

“Ryan without you what would I do. What would you do if I just walked out on you, could you honestly say you could just let me go, without a word, without following me. Could you honestly sit there and let me go. Ryan please, don't go I'll stand here all day if I have to. Just don't go. I know I'm probably not worth the wait or the time, and all those helpless nights when I didn't come home at night and you laid awake till I got home. But you Ryan your worth that to me, you will always be worth all of that to me Ryan. Just stay.” I said fresh tears rolling down my eyes slowly, kissing my lips, meeting at my chin and dripping to the floor.

So if I say it's okay and I walk out,
Would you let me go,
would you follow me to the door?
Or just sit,
hoping for more?
I know you wonder if it's worth the wait
Or the time that it takes
Every breath that you lost,
Every night spent awake
Every moment gets closer,
The door's gonna close on you.
So I say, wait...

I gulped, and stood strong as I blocked the door. I looked at his face for any sign of emotion, there was no trace, he was lost in thought. Was he not listening to me could he not honestly here my plea.

I hold my breath and wait for your reaction
Stand my ground 'cause I'm not ready to back down
I know, but where could I go?
Wait for your reaction, wait for your reaction

He moved towards the door, and looked at me with knowing eyes.
“I'm sorry Brendon,” He said and reached for the doorknob, he pulled it open slightly. He was stronger than I was but I stood my ground, I wasn't gonna let him win.
“Please Ryan Stay,”
He had went into silent mode.
“Stay,”
He pulled harder on the door each time getting it farther and farther open.
“DAMN IT RYAN DID YOU NOT HEAR ME, DO I HAVE TO TELL YOU I LOVE YOU, DO I HAVE TO PROVE IT TO YOU WOULD YOU STAY THEN,” I yelled frustration and sadness building up in me.
“I can't stay Bren, I'm sorry, i'm just not into us anymore,
so move” Ryan said a tear slipping down his face.
“Would you be happier without me?” I asked.
He was silent again pulling to get the door open.
“Would you?”
There was no response he pulled harder at the door.
“Would you be happier without me?” I asked choking on my tears.
He got the door successfully opened and I fell to the floor, he slammed the door leaving.

I hold my breath and wait for your reaction
Stand my ground 'cause I'm not ready to back down
I know, but where could I go?
Wait for your reaction, wait for your reaction

I leaned up against the
wall bringing my knees to my chest, crying. If only I could have held my ground, if only I could have been stronger, then maybe he wouldn't have left. The door handle twisted slightly
“Ryan,” I whispered through my suffocating river of tears.
There was no answer, someone knelt down in front of me, it was Ryan his face as clear as day even through blurs of tears.
“Do you want my reaction to your words,” He whispered softly, his voice sounding like a sweet melody on a piano. I nodded, and he kissed me, entwining his fingers with my own.
“I love you Brendon,” He said pulling back slightly.
