Chapter 2
By demonalchemist5

I'm not revealing who the woman is in this chapter; that will be next chapter. Hope you like this chapter anyway.

And I want these words to make things right,
but it's the wrongs that make the words come to life.
Who does he think he is?
If that's the worse you got, better put your fingers back to the keyhole

Maes Hughes had one basic duty in the military; he was the Lieutenant Colonel. He also had another duty that he'd self-appointed himself to. He was Roy Mustang's “babysitter”. Lieutenant Hawkeye “baby-sat” him at work, making sure the colonel did his paperwork. Hughes “baby-sat” the colonel outside of work, telling him to “get a wife”.

Maes Hughes hated the local bars. They were smoky and smelled of alcohol. He didn't like going home smelling like smoke. It made Gracia worry and he definitely did not want Elysia to get sick, but he went to see what Roy was doing. Maes knew all about Roy's little “problem”, but he really couldn't do anything about it. Roy was his superior, so Maes couldn't tell Roy what to do.

Hughes sat down at a barstool and a bartender came over. His nametag read “Steve”.

“Can I get you anything, sir?” Steve asked Hughes. Hughes looked up. “No, I'm just here to wait for a friend.”

Hughes turned back, spotting Roy. He was talking to another woman. Oh great, he's going to do it again, Hughes knew.

As Hughes watched, Roy helped the woman to her feet, and they left. Roy never even knew that Hughes was there.

Maes Hughes had scolded Roy Mustang before for his “little game”, but Mustang never listened.

Next chapter, I'll reveal Mustang's first victim, ah, I mean woman. Please read. It's going to start to get good, I promise.
