She loved him.
“So this is it” Jane said pushing the door to her room open wide, Gerard stepped in and
looked around. If he wasn't already certain he was in love with Jane already, her room would have
proved it. It wasn't a large room, just medium sized, like a rectangle. She had
one window on the eastern wall. Every other wall had either a poster on it, or was blocked by
furniture. Her bed took up most of the northern wall, then her closet and drawers on the south, and
her desk was right beside the door on the western wall. The
`walls from what he could see were dark purple. There were still some boxes lying around, but most
of her stuff was already put in place. There were Pink Floyd posters, Radiohead, the Beatles, Led
Zepplin, Guns N' Roses and many other classic rock posters.
“So I'm guessing you're a fan of classic rock?” he laughed going to sit on the edge of
her bed. Jane stood in the middle of the room with her hands in her pockets, “always have been
always will be” she said quoting what he'd said on there first actual date. She
smiled her brilliant smile at him; he was dazed for a second before snapping back into reality.
“Whoa” he said as his jaw dropped, beside her desk, not viewable from the door, were
stacks and stacks of CD racks. He rushed over scanning the titles, it seemed she had
at least one CD from every band in existence, if not every band, most of them. “Holy
crap….how…..how the hell….where did you get all these?” he stammered
still in shock by the enormous collection. “I've been um adding to it ever since I was
13” she laughed
nervously, “she walked over and picked up the first CD on the first rack, `The White Album' by
the Beatles, “first CD I've ever owned” she smiled at it. “Good album” he
acknowledged, “good? More like most amazing album of all time” she corrected. “I
wouldn't go that far” he chuckled; Jane gave him a gentle shove,
“greatest-album-of-all-time” she stressed each word playfully. “Right” he
grinned, Jane gasped “how could you even disagree?” she said, Gerard poked her in the
ribs, “because I know better” he
laughed. Jane jaw dropped as she looked at Gerard, “that's it” she joked. She tickled
his ribs as he laughed at her to stop. “Okay, okay!!” he laughed, “okay
what?” Jane paused, waiting for Gerard to say she was right. “Okay…….it's
my turn” he told her, tickling her
back. The stumbled, Gerard tickling Jane until they came to her bed, Gerard gently pulled her down
with him as he fell onto it. Jane kicked off her shoes and slipped out of Gerard's grip, she crawled
farther onto the bed and stretched out. Gerard still sat on the
edge, giving her a glance; he kicked off his shoes and did the same. Gerard's feet hit the end of
her bed; he folded his arms behind his head. Jane laid her head on Gerard's chest and folded her
knees to curl up beside him. Gerard pulled one arm from behind his head
and wrapped it under her, his finger traced up and down her arm. They lay with each other in silence
for a long time, so long that they fell asleep.
Jane awoke to a key turning and a creaking noise; luckily she was a light sleeper
or she wouldn't have noticed that her Aunt was home. She opened her eyes; Gerard had both his arms
around her, hugging her to his chest, their legs intertwined. She didn't want
to move, but if she didn't soon her Aunt would find them and….she didn't want to think about
what would happen next. She broke free from Gerard's arms and untwined her legs from his, this woke
him. “Huh? Wha...” he asked wiping his eyes, “my Aunt is home,
Gerard we fell asleep, quick get up!” she said quickly jumping off the bed, she picked up a
book from on top of her dresser and threw it at him. “Quick, pretend to read” she
snapped at him, she ran to her desk and sat down just as her Aunt opened the door. “Jane
I…oh” her Aunt said realising Gerard was in the room, he had the book open upside down.
“Oh sweetheart you didn't tell me that Gerard was coming over” she frowned. “Um
actually we only got home a few hours ago….not even. We were….waiting
for….you to get home” she lied pretending to shut off the computer that lay on her
desk. “Oh well alright” her Aunt smiled, “I actually just came to make sure you
were alright, I was going to head back to the hospital, is that alright?” she asked. Jane
please, its fine, go look after Sam. I'll head over soon” she told her. Her Aunt gave Gerard
one last look-over before saying good-bye and closing the door. Jane waited until she heard her Aunt
close the front door from downstairs before she turned to face Gerard.
He was standing over her dresser; he had already put the book back and was looking at something.
Jane walked over to him, “that was close…” she said before she saw what he
was holding. It was his CD; she forgot to put it back when she took it out of Sam's room days ago.
Gerard put it back on the dresser, “I sometimes forget…that you're in My Chemical
Romance” Jane smiled, Gerard smiled back. “Everyone thinks that because
you're in a band you're automatically cooler than everyone else. I really don't feel cooler than
anyone at all to be honest” he said. Jane wrapped her arms around him, “if it makes a
difference, I'm glad. I don't think I could love you like I do now if you were some big
ego-I'm the best-kind of rock star” she told him. They both froze Jane with her cheek against
his chest and Gerard just about to put his arms around her. She'd never said that before, Gerard had
told her once that he loved her, but Jane never said it back or even
mentioned it, they both noticed. Gerard wrapped his arms around her and used his hand to pull her
face up to his. He kissed her on the lips; the jolt shook through them again, like it had so many
times before. This kiss was even more electric than the rest, Gerard's
hand knotted in her hair while his other arm wrapped tightly around her waist pulling her to him.
Jane had both arms around his neck, each hand running through his hair. Gerard spun around so Jane's
back was to the wall. Gerard moved his lips to her neck as she
gasped for air. Since Jane was still shorter than him he lifted her so there eyes were levelled, she
wrapped her legs around his hips and pushed against the wall for support. There lips met again,
moving as one, Jane bit his bottom lip, then continued kissing him
back. Jane ran her hands down his chest and wrapped around his waist. Gerard's hand rested on her
hip, slowly travelling up her shirt. But then there was the same clicking noise, Jane's Aunt could
be heard from downstairs, they froze mid-kiss. “Jane sweetie,
I'm sorry Sam wanted me to pick up a few of his things could you do me a favour and just grab them
for me? He wanted some CDs? Oh! Um that band…the My Chemicals of
Love one, that one he said he wanted…and oh I don't know which just grab some” she
shouted. Gerard smiled “My Chemicals of Love?” he whispered, Jane laughed silently,
“its My Chemical Romance Aunt Maggie, yeah I'll get them, just give me a second” she
called back. Gerard pulled his hand back and let her gently down to the floor. Jane fixed her shirt
still smiling; Jane gave him one quick kiss before she slipped out from behind
him and headed to Sam's room catching her breath along the way. She knew which CDs Sam would want;
she grabbed a small black knapsack, filled with the CDs he'd been
listening to lately, which also had his CD player. She ran down the stairs and handed her Aunt the
bag. “Oh thank you so much sweetie” she smiled, “no problem” Jane said
sitting at the bottom of the stairs. “I'll see you soon” she waved and ran back out the
ran her hands through her hair and smiled to herself. She heard footsteps and Gerard appeared beside
her. “I should get back to the hospital too” he smiled; Jane frowned
“now?” Gerard kneeled down and looked her in the eyes. “I'll see you soon”
he said giving her a long kiss. “Make it really soon” she whispered against his lips,
chuckled and headed out the door. Jane sat at the foot of the stairs her chin resting on her palm.
She sighed, how had she let it get this far? How, she didn't really care, all she knew is that now
she told him, he knows and there is no turning back.
