I'll Keep Acting Like John Cusack If You Keep Acting Like Indiana Jones
By restinpieceslover

A/N: Ummm......just so you know....this is a bit difficult for me to do.....Posting the songs I write would be like letting you inside my mind......And the thought of letting anyone in scares the shit out of me......1. Because then they could figure me out, which I never want to happen and 2. Because my mind has already driven me to insanity, and letting someone else in might do the same to them........But anyway, I'm spilling out my entire soul to you in posting this, letting you inside the maelstrom that is my mind....Please don't destroy me....

Song Title: "I'll Keep Acting Like John Cusack If You Keep Acting Like Indiana Jones"

The daggers are getting deeper

As we pull the plugs on our internal drains.

We're emptying out,

And don't we know it.

Keep our composure,

We can never show it.

Oh, and what happens

When we fall at the feet

Of the holograms

We provide for each other?

The lyrics are hiding

The very ocean

That we're swimming in.

And oh, didn't I end that in a preposition?

(You can't stay an ostrich for too long)

And for just one night,

We don't have to gasp for air

In our own 3-foot-deep pools,

Disguising our ocean with a one-night-stand.

We're sinking together.

But weren't we already at rock-bottom?

Were we ever really afloat?

We've hit bottom together,

And we still don't know it

Because the daggers

Have carved out the very eyes

We admire each other's shells with.

And oh, didn't I end that in a preposition?

It seems my shell has cracked just a bit,

My hologram is fading with each and every word.

But you didn't seem to know it was there, Angel.

You were too busy protecting your own

(And I didn't even know).

And now we've hit rock-bottom together

And don't we know it?

No, we don't know it.

We can never show it

I seem to have forgotten,

Do you remember my name?

Oh, that's right, you never knew.

All we ever had to do was.....

Pretend.

A/N: So yeah.....this is the product of me waking up at 4AM, writing a song, and going back to sleep. Is it the lyrical genius I hope it is?
