Sleepover at Your House!
By Jupiter Angel

(Since this is a sleepover, I don't think Hiei would be caught in such a nigen,
or "human" activity. =P So no fire demon this story. -gets pelted by Hiei fans-)

------------------------

"Oh shut up." You said, flicking some popcorn at Yusuke. He leaned over to his
right and caught in his mouth. You just made a face at him.

"There's nothing wrong with doing homework on a Friday night." You continued on
before scribbling something down on a piece of paper.

"Why can't you just save it for Sunday night, (your name)?" The black haired
teen replied, leaning back on his hands.

"Because as soon as I'm done, I'll have the rest of the weekend free." You
explained, resisting the urge to throw more popcorn at him. "Besides, Kurama's
doing his homework now too."

"Nani?" Kurama perked his head up, pausing in his writing.

"Its nothing, Kura-kun." You grinned at the red head. He returned the smile before
going back to his work. Yes, you knew about the Reikai Tantei. It was quite the
surprise though to discover your stepfather, a wealthy business man, was actually
a demon in disguise, trying to destroy the human world. Although pure human, you
provided the Reikai Tantei with valuable information about him that ultimately led
to his defeat. Unfortunately, you lost your mother in the process, but she always
told you to be strong and you decided to honor her by doing that.

"He always does his homework right after school." Yusuke said, rolling his eyes.
You laughed, shutting your notebook.

"All done." You announced with a smile. "How long before Kuwabara gets here?"

"Could be a while from the looks Shizuru was givin' us." Yusuke shrugged. You
coughed a bit, trying to cover up another laugh.

"I can see why." You smirked, getting to your feet. But before he could respond,
Keiko entered the room, overloaded with several bags.

"Gah! I can't see a thing!" She groaned.

"Stay put Keiko-chan. I'll help!" You volunteered, skipping across the room to
her and taking a couple bags.

"Much better. Thanks (your name)!" Keiko said with a grin. You smiled back.

"No probs. Where do these go?" You asked.

"By the TV. Some of them are movies and I managed to borrow some games and a
Playstation 2 from my cousin." Keiko replied.

"Sweet!"

You started toward where the TV was, but unfortunately you didn't see Yusuke's
legs sprawled out and you ended stumbling over them.

"Yipe!" You squeaked, stuff flying out the bags. A couple movies flew out and
hit Kurama in the head. Yusuke caught the Playstation 2 when you accidentally
dropped a bag. You slipped on one of the movies that had fallen to the floor
and fell hard onto your shoulder.

"Ouch!" Was your automatic reply. Everyone scrambled over to you.

"Geez! Are you okay?" Yusuke asked, setting the PS2 down. "I didn't mean to
make you stumble like that!"

"No worries." You reply with a smile before you got to your feet. "I'll live.
Be right back."

You nimbly stepped through the littered floor and escaped into the hallway.
Heading down to the bathroom, you checked your shoulder out in the mirror.

"Bleh... Knowing my luck it'll bruise." You frowned as you pulled the neck line
of your (color) shirt down to look at it.

"(Your name?) Are you all right?" Came Kurama's voice from the doorway. In your
haste you had forgotten to shut the door.

You froze momentarily before quickly fixing your shirt.

"Hai, Kura-kun. Its a little red, that's all!" You replied nervously, fighting
down a light blush that threatened your face.

"Are you sure..." He asked, taking a step towards you. You panicked slightly.

"Yup! One hundred percent!" You laughed, playfully shoving him in the shoulder.
"Come on, let's go help pick up. I bet it looks worse that Yusuke's room on a
Monday morning!"

Kurama couldn't help but chuckle at that one.

Not long after the living room was cleaned up, Kuwabara showed up with some snacks
and a big bump on the head.

"Shizuru don't like me askin' for money." He grumbled before depositing the items
in the kitchen.

The remainder of the evening was rather interesting. After sending Kuwabara out
several more times, you had everything you needed for your little sleep over.

"(Your name)! If you keep that up, there won't be any popcorn left for tonight!"
Keiko called from the kitchen.

You paused for a moment, before you continued on flicking popcorn at Yusuke. Kurama
came in the room and took away the popcorn bowl.

"Awwww." You pouted as you sat. "Can I at least grab some for myself?"

He obliged, lowering the bowl down toward you. You reached for it, but instead of
grabbing a handful, you smack the bowl and send popcorn flying at the fox.

"Very funny, (your name)." Kurama replied, trying not to smile. You just laughed,
and grabbed one of his arms.

"You, sit." You commanded, yanking him down to the floor. "I still want my popcorn."

Kurama blushed lightly as you scooted up behind him and started picking out popcorn
from his hair, mindful of the seeds he kept in there. You ate them with a satisfied
smirk, occasionally glaring at the two idiots playing video games, who were staring
and snickering at you and the red head.

"Ah, you two are just jealous, 'cuz no one will do that with you." You said,
grabbing onto Kurama and sticking you tongue out at them. You failed to notice the
brightening blush on his face as you rested your chin on his shoulder, as you argued
back and forth with Yusuke and Kuwabara.

- - - - - -

It was fifteen minutes after one. Static snow danced on the TV as everyone laid out
in the dark room, all asleep. Keiko was closest to the window, with Yusuke next to
her. Kuwabara was sprawled out, unintentionally pushing Kurama closer to you. You
didn't know he was in your space when you ended up rolling halfway on him in your
sleep.

"Mmmm.." You mumbled, snuggling close to something warm. Kurama was awake in an
instant.

"(your name)..." He whispered after a few moments, gently shaking you. Annoyed,
you swatted his hand away.

-You idiot! Leave her be!- Yoko hissed at his human counterpart. Kurama became
still, listening to the sound of you breathing so close to him. It became like a
soothing lullaby, and he could feel his eye lids grow heavy once again.

You, however, woke him back up by moving your arm across his chest and let it hang
at his side. Muttering something, you squirmed a bit, making yourself more
comfortable.

Great kami... Kurama's eyes widen as you moved a leg over his, nuzzling his neck.
He blushed as your breath tickled his skin.

-Heh. You know you like it.- Yoko said smugly. Kurama couldn't deny it. He had known
you for two and half years now, and he had been attracted to you for some time now.
He was unsure of how to tell you, afraid of endangering your friendship with him.
The red head knew how delicate your feelings were; he saw through your occasional
masked emotions.

-You know (your name) better than that.- Yoko scolded his human counterpart. -When
she's hiding something, you pick up on it right away. It may take a litte prodding,
but (your name) always opens up to you, more than she does with the others.-

Yoko had a good point there.

-I say go for it. Even if (your name) doesn't feel the same way about us now, she
could change her mind in the future.-

Hesitantly, Kurama brought his hand up to the back of your head and gently stroked
it. After a few minutes, you groaned suddenly, and he immediately dropped his arm.
Stirring, you sat up, groggily rubbing at your eyes. You sat there for a minute,
before smacking your lips. You were thirsty, so you got up and slowly walked to the
kitchen for a glass of water. You paused for a moment at the sink, letting out a
yawn.

"(Your name)..." Kurama breathed into your ear, waking you up further. You stopped
and turned to face him. He wrapped his arms tightly around you, preventing you from
moving any further. You instantly became aware of his firm body pressed against
yours, and your face began to heat up.

"Kura-kun...?" You whispered, your heart hammering in your ears. He was so close...
Kurama just nuzzled your neck, sending shivers through your body.

"Allow me..." He replied softly, reaching for a glass cup and filling it about half
way with water. With a light smile, he presented it to you.

"Arigato, Kura-kun." You managed to smile at him before taking a drink. Unfortunately
some it went down the wrong pipe and you reacted immediately, coughing out the water.
At the same time, you brought the glass down hard, breaking it in the sink. You hissed
in pain as you felt some of broken pieces cut into your hand.

"(Your name)!" Kurama exclaimed, though not loud enough to wake anyone. He quickly
whisked you out of the kitchen, down the hall to the bathroom. You immediately shut
your eyes when he flicked on the light switch. He then set you on the ledge of the
bathtub and inspected your hand.

"Do you have a first aid kit?" Kurama asked. You nodded, pointing the cabinet next
to the mirror with your other hand. He found it easily and opened it up, setting it
on the bathroom sink. You clenched your teeth together, trying not to whimper.

"Shhhh... It'll be okay (your name), I promise." He whispered, gently brushing his
lips against your cheek. Your mouth opened slightly as you sat there in a sort of
daze, vaguely aware of Kurama removing some slivers of glass from your hand. In a
matter of minutes, your wounds was cleaned and bandaged.

"Domo Arigato...." You whispered, staring at him. He looked up at you, his bright
green eyes meeting your (color) ones. A small smile crossed the red head's face as
he brought your bandaged hand to his lips and gently kissed it. Once again, your
heart began racing as an intense burning filled your body. Slowly, you leaned
forward and gently kissed him. Your lips lingered on his for a few moments before
you realized what you were doing. Quickly, you pulled away, blushing like mad.
You looked down at the tiled floor, fidgeting nervously with the end of your shirt.

"(Your name)..." Kurama breathed. Just as you looked back up, he brought his mouth
crashing against yours. His arms enveloped you into a tight embrace as he kissed
you with such passion it made your head spin.

"Mmmm.." You mumbled, briefly shutting your eyes. After several moments, you gently
pushed against Kurama's chest, breaking the kiss.

"Gomen... (your name)..." He said as he looked away. You gently cupped his face
and made him look at you. Kurama looked a little sad as you studied his eyes.

"Hey, let's go sit outside. Its still nice out." You suggested. Without really
waiting for a reply, you stood up and took his hand. Quietly, you lead him down
the hall and out the door into the backyard. Gesturing for him to sit down next to
you, you sat on your cushioned porch swing.

"So what's up?" You asked Kurama as soon as he sat down. You couldn't help but
notice how good he looked in his tight brown shirt and black shorts.

"What do you mean?" He asked innocently. You couldn't help but laugh a little.

"Who are you trying to fool with the innocent act, Fox Boy?" You asked with a grin,
lightly slapping his arm. "You're talking to the Master here!"

As to prove your point, you scooted onto Kurama's lap and gave him a great big hug.
You could feel him stiffen underneath you.

"Now, is there something you want to tell me?" You whispered innocently into his ear.
After a short pause, he responded with a shiver and wrapped his arms around you.

Taking a deep breath, Kurama spoke.

"I love you."

You blinked in surprise.

"Nani?" You asked, sitting back to look at him face to face.

"I love you." He repeated, bringing his hand to your cheek and gently stroking it.
You couldn't help but stare at the red head as you got goose bumps all over.

"I understand if you don't feel the same way..." He whispered, looking away. You
quickly snapped out of your little trance.

"Kurama..." You said, getting off him and standing. As Kurama looked back at you,
you yanked him to his feet and into your arms.

"I love you too." You replied, hugging him as tightly as you could.
