If You're Irish
If You're Irish...
folk songs blared out of loud speakers placed all over the room. Various guests sang in varying
keys as they drank and leaned on one another for support, those that were standing anyway.
Now, this scene isn't too unusual, except, of course, for three things-this isn't Ireland, this
party is being held in what appears to be a temple of sorts, and the guests are not Irish-in fact,
they're a mix of assorted Seishi, their families, priestesses, and various friend of both parties.
Yes, it's St. Patrick's day, which explains the Irish music at least. ^_-
this all began a while ago, before everyone was plastered out of his or her minds. Let's go back a
few hours to see how this rather strange scene came about...
A group of
bandits sauntered into a temple to join their friends, as well as some Seishi who couldn't exactly
be called 'friends'. Their leader and his friend with the cool eyebrows looked around, checking out
"Shun'u!" a voice cried. The red-haired bandit turned around to have the
speaker shove a large stein of something into his hands.
Tasuki looked at the mug, at his
cohort, and then at his hostess. "What's going on? I thought you said this was some holiday for
some religious guy, or something? Saint somethin'-or-other."
The girl nodded happily,
and Tasuki noticed that she seemed a tad more happy than usual. "It's St. Patrick's day no da!"
Tasuki sniffed the mug while Kichiri passed out steins full of alcohol to the rest of the
bandits. "Oi! What the &$*(#& is this?" he asked her.
"It's beer no da!" she said
proudly. "Home brew, made with an old Irish recipe no da." Tasuki raised an eyebrow and Kouji
raised both of his. Make that a lot more cheery than usual, Tasuki decided.
"What kind of holiday is this?"
"It's an Irish holiday! This is how we celebrate!"
With that, Kichiri threw one arm around each bandit's shoulder and led them into the main room in
which the party was already in full swing.
"You're the last to arrive no da!" she
informed them as they stood in the doorway, in awe at the number of people, the amount of alcohol,
and the effect of the two combined. "You have to catch up no da!"
"Hey! I thought
priestesses don't drink!" Tasuki yelled after her as she ran back into the midst of things.
She turned around and flashed him a brilliant, slightly lop-sided smile. "I only drink today no
da! I'm Irish no da!"
Tasuki sweatdropped. This was too weird. First Kichiri is
drinking (and halfway drunk by the looks of it), then he comes to her Temple only to discover that
there's a big drinking party going on for a holiday he's never even heard of before, and, to top it
all off, there was a heck of a lot of green everywhere.
Kouji just slapped him on the
back and pushed him towards the awesome amount of food and alcohol on the table nearby. "Hey
Genrou! Don't think too much! Just enjoy this while you can! It'll be great to see what
Kichiri's like drunk!" Kouji laughed.
Tasuki looked over at that particular Amazon
priestess, only to see her loudly singing along with yet another song he didn't understand. She had
dropped her 'no da's and her voice had taken on a lilting accent. Another priestess was singing
along with her, pausing occasionally to take a long swig out of a pitcher of something.
"Tasuki no da!" Chichiri walked up to the bandit. "What'llya have?" The monk gestured at a
large assortment of drinks on the table.
Tasuki almost fell over. "Oi! Chichiri! Are
you drunk?" he exclaimed, disbelieving.
"Nah, just happy no da!" The monk
slapped him on the back and topped up the stein Kichiri had given to him at the door. "'Bout time
ya got here, too, no da. It's not a party without ya!"
Tasuki sweatrained. He looked
around to see that Chichiri wasn't alone; the rest of his fellow Seishi were equally close to
plastered. Nuriko was sitting among a whole hoard of fan girls and actually enjoying it. Hotohori
and Nakago were sitting with their admirers and each going on about how beautiful they were. o.O
Tamahome and Miaka were actually together, and not trying to think about their relationship
too much. Mitsukake and Shoka-
"SHOKA!" Tasuki exclaimed.
confirmed, "that's Shoka no da. Kichiri and Ritz combined forces and brought her back for this," he
explained as Tasuki facefaulted.
Anyway, Mits and Shoka were happily catching up on
things, while various FYMLers fawned over Tama-neko.
Chiriko had been appropriately aged
to perfection and had developed a fan club of his own, and he seemed to be enjoying the attention
The twins had been separated and Amiboshi was circled in his own ring of fans.
The scary thing was, was that Makoto, who usually defended her right to Amiboshi, was actually
letting people share her beloved flute boy. Amiboshi, for his part, was a little tipsy himself, and
was playing his flute along with the Irish drinking songs.
Tomo had his fan club to drool
all over him, and it seemed that he had almost forgotten about Nakago for the moment.
Miboshi had been reverted back to one of his earlier bishonen forms and his popularity had
suddenly increased dramatically. ^_-
Soi had given up on Nakago and was now trading bawdy
drinking songs with two other priestesses, while her own fans kept her well stocked up on food,
drink, and praise.
Yui and Tetsuya were even there, drinking alongside yet another group
of FYMLers and priestesses.
Suboshi had been wisely removed from Yui and Tetsuya's area
early on, and was now doing a karaoke number (an Irish song of course ^_-) with Kichiri.
Suddenly Tasuki felt a large number of people close in around him. All 23 of his seishi as well
as his Miko dragged him over to their own special corner.
"Where were you, Gen-chan?"
"We missed you!"
"Hey, try this. This is really good!"
Tasuki sat down amongst his adoring, and drooling, fans. He took a BIG swig of whatever was in
the cup that Kichiri had given him. His entire chest burned as the liquid fire coursed down his
"*&($*)(! That's GOOD STUFF!" he exclaimed in approval.
plopped down beside him, and Kouji sat on his other side. Their respective fan clubs clustered
Tasuki looked around proudly. He had a heck of a lot more fans than anyone
else did, even if some of them were also drooling over the inebriated monk beside him. He took
another gulp of the brew in his mug. He could get to like this.
He felt someone sneak up
behind him and tuck something behind his ear.
"Ye need a shamrock, Shun'u! It's the
symbol of Ireland!" Kichiri smiled happily at him.
He grinned back at her and they
clinked glasses. He reached out and hauled her into the group and she sat down contentedly between
him and Chichiri, with Suboshi sitting in front of her.
Tasuki glared at Psycho Yo-yo boy
for a moment, but Kichiri just smacked him and told him to leave 'Shun-chan' alone. Apparently she
was still pretty observant even when sloshed.
The rest of the groupings joined in and
soon everyone was singing along with whatever song came out of the speakers. Glasses clinked and
various interesting drinks were downed. The entire Nuriko fan club managed to all plant
simultaneous kisses on Nuriko, while the Four Gods and Tenkou even put off their, um,
disagreements long enough to down a few together. You haven't seen anything, by the way,
until you've seen five deities try to sing 'Auld Lang Syne' together after a few Nuriko specials.
Tomite had even shown up and had managed to sling one arm around both Tomite no Miko
and Kichiri. Suboshi had defensively belted the Genbu seishi when he got a little to 'fresh' with a
certain priestess, so Tomite only ended up sharing drinks with a very happy Erin.
Kourin and Kiose had barely fought over Hotohori-sama ::sigh:: all night, since Kichiri had made
sure to properly sedate the youngest priestess appropriately. =P Now both Hoto-lovers, among the
rest of them, were happily doting on their favourite seishi, the awesome Hotohori-sama ::sigh::.
Baileys had temporarily replaced chocolate syrup in honour of the occasion, even though it
didn't work quite as well. Nuriko specials, Shamrock shakes, and home brew abounded and everyone
had a good time.
"^&$*#&)( Kichiri! We gotta do this again!" Tasuki told Kichiri as he
downed his fifteenth Shamrock shake (the alcoholic variety).
"Yep! Next year!" she
agreed. "And next time, you can hold it!"
So there you have it.
Don't you wish you were Irish too? ^_-
Owari no da ^_-
