The Fencing Lesson
By Fiction No Miko

ACK!! Another Hotohori fic with me, Fiction no Miko in it!! Man, I must be
WAY to into romances and Hotohori, right? Don't worry I agree with you.
I have to start on Yumeo's own series anyway. So, enjoy this fic. Oh yeah,
here is the standard disclaimer-Yuu Watase and all other companies own my
precious Hotohori and other FY character I might mention. Yumeo belongs
to me, however.

The Fencing Lesson
By Fiction no Miko

This was not Yumeo's week. Midterms could be found around
every corner. A huge bake sale was coming up on Friday. And more
importantly-her big fencing competition was Saturday morning. All the big
shots in her region would be coming after her at full force. She had been
practicing for it for the past two weeks now, and she thought she was doing well.
But then again, she was very nervous, and nervousness has a way of making her
unconfident...in the worse way.
"Some kind of god must be playing a sick game with me," she said,
trudging to her own private fencing studio. She put her mask onto her face, and
began to practice. She practiced every stroke and counterstroke vigorously
until she grew bored, plopping onto the floor. "This is no fun! I can't effectively
practice without a partner! But who could I...oh yeah!!"
She gently reached over to her trusty violet book-the book that did
wonders. Whenever she wrote a story into it-and you know that she always did-
it would become truth if she said the right incantation.
And when it came to stories about her lovely Hotohori-expert in the
sword and all out hunk-she'll say that incantation in a heartbeat!!
"I'm gonna need your help, my precious Emperor," she said quietly,
writing in her book. After a few moments, she finished, and closing her eyes, she
chanted:

"By the power of spirits
And the glamour of dreams
Make my story truth
Bring it right to me!"

Yumeo smiled as a violet light surrounded her, flowing beside her.
Soon, it materialized, and there he sat, dressed in fencing attire. Yumeo blushed.
Even in fencing attire, he looked good. She turned to him, smiling.
"Konnichi-wa, Hotohori-sama," she said happily, kindly.
He turned to her and smiled, chuckling softly. "Well, at least I know
that the Swooning Hotohori Club isn't summoning me once again!" He took out
a mirror and began to look at himself.
"Oh, please!" Yumeo said, giggling. "Besides, I have more meaningful
reasons to summon you. I'm not obsessive, nor am I an ecchi, remember? Besides,
I need you to help with my fencing...hey, are you even listening to me?!"
"Huh?" Hotohori swiftly (yet reluctantly) took the mirror away from
his face. "Oh, gomen nasai, Yumeo-san. Now, what where you saying?"
"I was saying that I summoned you here because I need your help! I
have a fencing competition on Saturday and I need practice...and since you are such
a good swordsmen..."
"Isn't that the truth?" he interrupted.
Yumeo grunted. "Yeah, sure. Anyway, since you are so good with this
stuff, I thought you'd be able to help me practice."
"I see," Hotohori said, after thinking for a few moments. He raised
an eyebrow. "Are you sure that exactly why you brought me here?"
"And what do you mean by that?"
"I don't know...last time I help a girl, it became a lemon."
Yumeo grew annoyed at the word 'lemon'. "Hentai! You think you are
so all that!"
"Because I am, Yumeo-san. I thought you knew that." He began to
show off. Yumeo, though annoyed, tried not to drool.
"Well...in looks, hai, demo...when it comes to fencing, I can see you
as good...but not all that."
Hotohori's eyes widened. "Nani?! You dare mock me, and I have high
skills with the sword. You are asking for trouble, girl. I'll show you who to
mock!"
Yumeo smirked. Even angry, he still looked good. "We'll see about
that. EN GUARDE!"

Four hours, the two went at it....very passionate. Because of
Yumeo's determination, Hotohori was pretty close to his best, coming at her
with his best combinations. And Yumeo would no give up, counterstroking
every attack with her own. Whenever the fight seemed to end, it would start
again. They kept at it until the evening, both falling onto the floor, breathless.
"Yumeo..." Hotohori began, breathing hard, "is it me, or was your
chi strong and abundant today?"
Yumeo tried to catch her breath. "Well...I think so...I wanted to be...
my best...I really...want to do well...in this contest..."
"Demo, you don't seem to need my help, as hard as that is to believe!
You are doing just fine."
"Oh, don't say that!" Yumeo exclaimed. "I did...I'm not good at all. I
need to do better..."
Hotohori, turned to her, smiling. "Nonsense, Yumeo. You need to
have more confidence in your abilities."
"Kinda like you have sooo much confidence in your beauty, ne?" she
asked, gently, pushing some hair out of his face.
"Well...hai, exactly!! he said proudly. Yumeo smirked, and he became
serious, yet seemingly gentle. "If you have that much confidence in yourself, then
nothing can stand in your way."
Yumeo blushed but thought, . "A-Arigato
gozaimasu," she said quietly. "You've helped me a lot today."
"You're welcome, Yumeo. I'm glad I've made you smile."
They looked at each other for a moment, silently. The smiles faded
from from their faces. she though dreamily.
And that's exactly what she did. She moved her face closer to his,
and she closed her eyes. She allowed her lips to fall gently onto his, giving him
a soft, gentle kiss.
When it ended, she could see how shocked he was. "Uh...Yumeo..."
Her eyes widened, as she pulled back. "Oh...oh...gomen nasai! I
didn't mean to..."
His eyes then softened, and he smiled. "I guess I shouldn't be mad...
I should be happy. Nice to know that you are attracted to me as well...not that I
had a doubt." He pulled her close and kissed her just as she kissed him. She
blushed wildly. What a practice session.
He pulled away, both of them blushing at once. "I'm glad that I could
be of service to you tonight, Yumeo," he said quietly. "But I know for a fact that
you will be fine."
"Really? I'm glad you think so...and I enjoy this...for once I caught you
on a day where you weren't worry about your looks."
"MY LOOKS?! I ALMOST FORGOT!!" By instinct, he picked up
his mirror, quickly fixing himself up.
she thought, giggling. "Baka....you look
fine...and I think it's time to go."
"Oh, I know." He kissed her on the cheek. "I never thought I'd say
this, but I love it when you summon me. We must do it again."

"And again, and again, and again..."
He smiled. Gotta love that smile. "Of course...I promise. Good-bye,
Yumeo..."
And with that, he returned to his world.
Yumeo smiled like an idiot for a long time before she noticed that
book beside her, conveniently titled "The Fencing Lesson". She picked up the
book, smiling. Yeah...she would summon him again...a lot. There would be a
lot more book with her and love, Hotohori...

Well, that's it!! How's that for a fic. You should read this fic before you read
the fic on Yumeo's birthday. Anyway, I like this fic, too, but I gotta love the
first one because it was the very first fic I ever wrote. But anyway, how was it?
Was Hoto-sama in-character enough? I hope so. Send comments to:
animesoulfood@yahoo.com, and I will do my best to respond to them. Well, see
ya later!!
